Jack Waters at the UVU Review predicted Sederburg's new position a week ago, and we all thought he was crazy. Way to prove us wrong!

UVU last week. Higher education commissioner this week. What can we expect next week? VP candidate status with McCain? Or will Obama cross the aisle and look to Sederburg to help pick up Michigan?
Congrats Bill!

I'm so glad for President Sederburg. This is a position he has earned and deserves.
My only question is who will be the Interim President of UVU and I can't wait until a new President is named even though no one can truly live up to Sederburg yet I'm pleased that he will help select the new President.
He will be sorely missed by UVU students and faculty yet the state is lucky to have him in this position.

I have said to many friends at UVU that as soon as we became a university Pres. Sederburg would leave. I was right. As a student at UVU I am glad to see us become a university and am just as glad to see Sederburg leave. Maybe now we can get someone who cares about improving facilities for ALL programs. The music, dance, art, and theatre departments are housed in the same building as the auto shop, cabinet shop, and other trades. It's time to build something that is respectable and better than you would find at a 1A high school in rural Utah.

An elephant in a pink tutu is still an elephant... You may call it whatever you want, but it is still an elephant.
U-View has similar issues. Glossy name changes don't tackle any of the real issues.

I wish UVU would snatch up Michael Benson from SUU to lead the new University. Congrats to Pres. Sederburg, he has done a excellent job.

Have you not seen the design of the new art facility that is proposed to be built in the near future? I am pretty sure that building would not have been designed if Sederburg was not interested in the music/dance/art, and theater departments.
If you care so much about a new building stop complaining on Deseret News and go straight to the Vice President. He has an office at school you know...

to UVU Student,
I have seen the new design. I also know some of the specs of the proposed building. The fact is that this is the second encantation of an arts building at UVU. This building has also been the next building to be built on campus since before the Computer Science Building. I'm trying to generate some public interset on the topic. The fact still remains that this will never be built if we don't get a president that doesn't care about the arts.

It is more than obvious that the individual that made the elephant comment either does not attend the institution(evident from the fact that she/he knows nothing of the substantial changes that have taken place)or is at the school enough to see a few posters and nothing more. Anyone who doesnt realise that this school is going amazing places most likely is living under a rock. Either register for classes or get invovled/informed.

You're exactly right Tom. The advances that UVU has made in the amount of time it has taken under President Sederburg have exceeded everyone's expectations. There will always be items that need attention however a state of the art Library that serves all of the students was more of a priority than a Fine Arts Building. From building a new library to achieving University status to facilitating the jump to Division 1A while also securing the millions of dollars in state funding entitled to the institution, President Sederburg has been a tremendous leader. Congratulations on the new opportunity!!!
