How is the good old USSR doing at getting rid of their gas?

Another rant against a reasonable proposal on how to
destroy the poison gas. Transporting the gas to the
facilities equipped to handle disposal is safe and
the only reasonable way to solve the situation. How do you propose to dispose of the gas? We certainly cannot do it by building very expensive duplicate facilities across the nation which in itself would cause problems as the people trained and able to handle the disposal would all be new and facilities would have problems on startup. Please be reasonable and understand the situation before going to the knee-jerking usual un-enlightened environmentalist approach.

If the gas (presummably mustard gas) is either in safe containers or transferred to safe containers, then it may be reasonable to move some of it to Utah for destruction. Some of the munitions may be unstable and unsafe to transfer, so it makes sense to destroy them where they are stored. As for anything other than mustard gas, it will need to either be destroy onsite or wait until Tooele finishes with our mustard gas supplies.
Of course, it also makes sense to just negotiate a delay in the treaty, such as has been done before. We're getting much closer to the goal.

I thought this letter was going to be about Taco Bell.
