They are tax exempt and receive benefits the average business or person does not. They have a flow of cash available thru traffic enforcement. Active enforcement with a fuel surcharge added would be appropriate. Law enforcement should park their vehicles or share with another shift. Driving tax payer cars home is just plain poor approach.

Somebody better check and make sure they are not filling up their own boats and motorhomes again.

I have a plan for cutting the government's fuel costs in half. Cut government in half.

It's good to finally see our government taking proactive steps to save our tax dollars. Mr. Webster should be congratulated by Mayor Corroon himself!

I am very impressed with the turn around in the County government. It is a very different story than it was just a few short years ago when it seemed like a perk for government officials to drive whatever they wanted and use fuel anyway they wanted to. I would bet that even with fuel prices as high as they the county is saving money with the new management. As for the police taking home vehicles, What if there were an emergency and they needed their vehicles. I know that I feel better knowing they would be able to respond and not have to drive to get their patrol car. I also like them parked in their driveways. If nothing else it is noticed and people slow down.

The Sheriff's Office has taken delivery on 10-4 cylinder Malibu's. WOW!!! 10 of how many vehicles that the Sheriff's Office has?
The District Attorney's office got rid of all the 8 cylinder Crown Victoria's.
I think you need all the numbers before you can decide which county agency is being responsible with our tax dollars.
