I thought Ted Kennedy told us that amnesty for illegals wouldn't change the demographics of this Country (way back in the 70's)
You can't expect to advance a conservative agenda when you allow the unchecked immigration of millions of people who come from a Socialist background. Maybe that's what Ted had in mind...

When is McCane going to pander to the 85% of we whites?

I don't believe McCain or Obama should cater to Hispanics. What do they want that is so different from the rest of us? I don't believe that pandering politicians should cater to any special interest groups. Special interest groups of all sorts are tearing this country apart clamoring for what they want as opposed to what everyone else wants.

I think that Parker made some valid points. We need to look to the future as Americans, not Hispanic-Americans or Iraqi-Americans or African-Americans or whatever. All this is so divisive. We need to become a united people again. We need to care about each other again. We need to become personally responsible and accountable for our actions as individuals and as a country. We need to be respectful and law abiding. We need to wake up before it is too late.

"McCain needs to put more effort into courting Hispanic voters."

Seems like an offer of complete amnesty would be sufficient.

Anonymous has a number of good suggestions, all of which, unfortunately, have been ignored by the Bush Administration.

Could part of the problem be that several Hispanics don't like McCain's views on illegal immigration. Let's face it. The majority of illegals are coming from our neighbor to the south and many are related to indivuals here in the US. Why would they vote for someone who is banning them completely?
Just to make myself clear, I do not support illegal immigration. What I mean by this is that he's not likely to get a high voter response from that minority and this is the reason.

John McCain today said the the last eight years have produced a 60% growth in government size.
And who was in charge for the last 8 years?
George W. Bush - Republican.

And conservatives are constantly whining about smaller government aren't they?

What a joke!

My mom was born in Mexico. The think McCain needs to do is to quit changing his tune on every issue. I watched him give 3 or 4 speeches in the last couple of months and then turn right around and say the opposite thing. The man doesn't know what in the heck he's talking about--and hispanics aren't the only ones who notice this. There is NOTHING he can do to correct this problem. He's toast!

He could appease conservatives and tell Hispanics that they are lazy dolts milking the system. Follow that with how much Mexicans have ruined America. Then, ask them for their support in making English minatory.

It seems that for a lot of you the word Hispanic is synonymous with illegal. Believe it or not most of us are citizens, I for one, used to vote Republican. Now that I have seen their true colors I will vote Democrat until they start caring about the common working man. Come to think, I had a better economic life under Clinton (I didn’t care for him) than under Bush. I will be voting for Obama. I’m sure that he can do no worse than Bush or McCain.

If you're a citizen of the US you are no longer "Hispanic." You're "American." If you don't refer to yourself as such now, when will you?
