"Inconsistent defenses"? In an investigation that is what the whole thing is about. That is one of the best ways to show the defenses are suspect. In a package you can show where the lies are. When I was a brand new agent my supervisor said "a lie (told to you) is as good as the truth". If you can show that they are lieing then that is half the battle. Seperation of the cases allows them to lie in a vacuum and the jury is none the wiser. What, you gonna call Jeppson as a witness to show that Olson's lie is inaccurate? If they are tried together you can show that, seperate it is very hard. People that decieve this long usually start to believe their own lies are the truth.

Maybe they can be executed together.

they can grow up and tell the Davis family where their poor daughter's body is so they can finally have some closure.

Innocent until proven guilty, Kevin, innocent until proven guilty. Let's wait until after the trials to worry about that.
If you're called for jury duty, you'll have to decline because you've already made up your mind. Who needs evidence, right?

i think these guys have had the inclination to give everybody but the police the evidence,,,i guess they think that if they lie long enough, people will think they are innocent. to bad they aren't men, but abusers and wimps.

No way I read that story right. "Mr. Jeppson may be highly prejudiced by the accumulated evidence against Mr. Olsen," Davis wrote in the ruling. "The prejudice is more than a mere possibility."
Well, I guess I did. Just can't believe that a judge would say something so blatantly dumb. Of course Mr. Jeppson would be prejudiced, but it would be by when he said he was with Olson.
I agree with cougarfan. This judge is a real nuklir sighentist alright.
