210 days? | 10:16 a.m. June 28, 2008
Good thing he didn't hurt an animal or he might have had the key thrown away. Afterall, the animal has more rights than an underage girl.
210 days? Wow, way to throw the key away. For probation, did he receive a cookie?

Please, he gets free meals, lodging and a judge that knows how sorry this guy is. That judge needs to be removed from the bench. What a joke of a sentence, somehow sex with minors is no big deal in this culture.

You have got to be kidding. He gets less than a year for having sex with a minor? This is disgusting and I'm glad I never patronized Flix and I hope everyone who did is ashamed.
The prosecutors should get a list of all the former customers of Flix and investigate each one of them. Their conduct (patronizing Flix) is suspicious and the reason they did so is probably because they are prone to predatory behavior and want to appear as if they are "clean."
But we can be sure that those who would go out of their way to watch edited movies are prone to predatory behavior therefore if you know anyone who has watched edited movies please keep a close eye on their families and if you are suspicious ask their children if their parents are molesting them.
We must protect children from those who would prey on them and approximately 90% of those who watch edited movies are prone to predatory behavior.

I think it is wrong that a guy has 2 beers and gets more time than a CHILDMELESTER!!!!!!! What has this country coming to????
re: concerned american | 7:11 p.m. June 28, 2008
Only if after the two beers the guy gets into his truck and runs into a minivan killing a family of 4. Even then, he'll still do less than a year probably.

these girls knew what they were doing. Wake up people! The mother should be in trouble too. Along with the girls.

once again. What is wrong with Utah Judges? Cowards? Liberals? Coddlers of criminals? Bought off? So this slimy little rat raped children and gets a sentence of 210 days at which time he will again be free to rape children. What a system. He should have got at least 20 years. That would send a message... DON'T RAPE CHILDREN! Something really needs to be done about the liberalization of the courts... the system is seriously broken.
Just a thought... | 11:47 p.m. June 28, 2008
What if he was a woman who had sexual relationships with underage boys, will "she" get a longer sentence?
Whoops, never mind. His sentence is still longer than most of the female school teachers that's been caught with underage boys.
Interesting.

210 days in jail is not a harsh sentence. Why does one guy get 10 years and the next one less than a year? A child rapist the other day got 57 years. Now, that's harsh. We give way too much discretion to our judges. A person should have a reasonable idea of what the sentence is going to be if he/she gets caught. I'm all for harsh sentences or an alternative of long-term psychiatric treatment paid by the criminal or his/her family if it's effective. It is not a good idea to stick a sexual criminal in jail with no treatment because he/she will get out with the same urges and with no training on how to suppress/ignore/control them.

Obviously some idiot bloggers don't understand the difference between rape and consensual sex with a minor who not only portrayed themselves as being 18, but knew full well what they were doing. Some people in this state must be so pent up about "sex" that they start equating consensual sex with murder and rape. Yes, he agrees he made a mistake, but don't get carried away with comparing CONSENSUAL sex with teenagers to murder and rape! Teachers and coaches of both sexes have had relations with students in the past and have gotten away with probation only, so yes this is a fairly harsh sentence and probably about the most the law would allow.
Also, I think I remember a media correction last time that this guy never worked directly for cleanflix, he just rented some space in their back for his own editing work? It would be good if we could get the story straight!

Soooooooo... | 1:52 p.m. June 30, 2008
So I wonder how many of you who are on this site crying about the fact that this guy only got 210 days is going to actually GET OFF YOUR BUTTS AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT???? You whine about the penalties for animal cruelty being more than sex abuse, molestation or rape, but that's ALL you do. WHINE and wait for someone else to do something. What are YOU doing to fix the problem?? Have you taken the time to contact your local representative? Or are you too busy whinning on the Deseret News Website?
Do SOMETHING, organize, write to someone who needs to know or zip it and quit whining.

Yet another example of a typical Utah County hypocrite.

Why is his "position of trust" that different from say a school teacher. Parents sent their kids to this store because they thought it was safe and these predators were hiding between the rows of clean videos while they hid porn, booze and drugs in the back room and performed sexual acts with underaged girls. The sentence isn't harsh enough!
