What a class act. We're rooting for you Jaycee.

Dump Hart. Sign Carroll

I am totally shocked JC was overlooked. If I could, I would advise the Jazz to sign him immediately. Whoever gets him will greatly benifit. Watch and see, someone will get him and it will be one of the biggest steals in the NBA. He will be great for some smart team.

This is exactly what fuels Carroll's fire. Only Utah State had the brains to offer Jaycee a scholarship. That turned out quite well for the Aggies. I am disappointed in the Jazz. They can still redeem themselves if they sign him to a free agent contract so he can play for Utah in the Rocky Mountain Review. Carroll has some serious hops, can shoot the lights out, and is one of the hardest workers out there in basketball. Are you telling me that these 3 big men are better than Carroll? Taller and bigger yes, more athletic and skilled, no. I just do not want to see the Jazz getting burned by threes from Carroll in the future. If they pass on him, the Jazz deserve it. Ask Utah and BYU how much they liked that!
JJ Redick | 11:35 a.m. June 27, 2008
JJ Redick is a similiar player who played for Duke a few years back. He was the college player of the year and has a similiar body type and game to that of Jaycee; smaller guard, great shooter and scorer. Too bad he turned out to be a bust and hasn't had any type of impact in the NBA.

Jaycee would have been drafted if Redick would have not been a bust.

I hope he gets on a summer league team and lights it up. He will prove to everyone they made a mistake for overlooking him, just like he showed all of the college coaches for overlooking him coming out of high school.

JC will sign a NBA contract and will be a steal for some smart GM. IMO, JC is a better athlete than JJ. Faster, better shooter, better rebounder, etc...
Agreed. | 4:06 p.m. June 27, 2008
I'm not surprised Jaycee got overlooked as well. But he is going to be a great pickup to whoever get him. I think he'll end up in the NBA after he shows his talents in a summer league.

Worst case scenario is he'll wind up in Europe. But either way he'll have a great career in basketball ahead of him.
Go JC Go | 5:26 p.m. June 27, 2008
If Steve Kerr had a career in the NBA why can't Carroll?

He could really cause some problems for opponents with his shooting skills in the NBA. He will have a better career chance in the NBA than BYU's Plaisted.

I donlt about his skills,

But ha couldn't handle the pressure of a college 3-point contest. losing in the first round.

How will he handle the pressure of the nba?

I think the Jazz should buy out the contract of Jason Hart the guy is just a waste of roster space and sign Jaycee Carrol he is another Kyle Korver
Ronny Price | 8:37 p.m. June 27, 2008
Jaycee is not another Kyle Korver. Korver is much longer. The Jazz are so deep at the 2 spot, will Jaycee play point? And is he more athletic than Ronny Price? Price was HUGE considering the amount of minutes he played. And the other guys the Jazz have at the 2 spot are great as well... Morris Almond for one. I agree that Jaycee is a talent not to be passed on, just not a good fit for the Jazz right now. I think he has a great upside and I think he's more athletic and a better defender than Reddick. I hope to see him play in the league, I really enjoyed seeing him play in college. As a BYU fan I wish him luck, and I think he's got more upside than Plaisted as well... sorry Trent.
Carroll on Jazz? | 10:10 p.m. June 27, 2008
Please. The only reason Carroll will make the Jazz Rocky Mountain Roster is simply for a favor. Carroll is a class act but was made for Europe. He isn't fast enough, he isn't tall enough and doesn't play good defense. If they go by heart, we'll call him "Rudy". Unfortunately, talent makes the NBA, not accolades. We'll enjoy hearing about his accomplishments in Turkey or Russia.
Re: Carroll on Jazz? | 1:34 a.m. June 28, 2008
Ok I might agree with you that Carroll isn't tall enough for the NBA. However you also say he isn't fast enough for the NBA. Did you ever watch him play. He is one of the fastest players on the court and simply never runs out of energy. He runs up and down the court faster than anyone I have seen. No one can say he isn't made for the NBA cause you haven't seen him play for the NBA so how would you know?

Jaycee Carroll is worth every penny to go to the Jazz, dump Hart and get Carroll!!!
Aggie Alum | 10:52 a.m. June 28, 2008
Carroll does not stand a chance in the NBA. Head to Europe JC!
why???? | 4:26 p.m. June 28, 2008
Why do you guys think the jazz should pick Jaycee up? Just because he played for Utah State? I agree that Jaycee is a good athlete. But I don't think the jazz should put him on the roster. By the way my boy Ronnie price is a baller. He won't get anytime behind him.
JC | 4:14 p.m. June 29, 2008
When you're the all time NCAA's most accurate 3pt shooter, there will be a team who will want your services. You might move from team to team like korver, but a sniper is always a good investment.

And don't you think JC has already heard the "you can't jump, you're too small, too slow" stuff. Stockton heard the same stuff, prob by a lot of UTAH fans on draft day. But he made it anyways, and JC will as well.
JC Better than JJ?!!! | 7:22 a.m. July 1, 2008
First of all J.J. played for Duke in the ACC and JC played for Utah State in The WAC J.J. was the second leading scorer in the nation his senior year if you are tryin to tell me JC who was not even drafted is better than J.J. your a complete idiot
Jaycee in the NBA | 3:21 p.m. July 1, 2008
Jaycee is a deadly threepoint shooter... Better than Reddick in that department. He is faster than Reddick and neither one of them can defend (that's why neither one is a good fit for the NBA), but yes Jaycee is a better offense player and rebounder than JJ just not as tall. Jaycee would have been drafted in the first round if he had point guard skills and could play defense. Maybe that is what he should work on if he is determined to make an NBA team. Just my opinion... GO AGGIES!!!!
WYO Cowboy | 9:53 a.m. July 2, 2008
JC is a great kid and a tremendous bball player. I played against him in high school and he dominated us. He is one of the greatest shooters out there. Unfortunately, the NBA cares more about athleticism than shooting ability. I would think there is some team out there that needs a shooter but I guess we will have to see.
summleaguewatcher | 4:14 p.m. July 12, 2008
I just saw JC in Raptors/Kings game (didn't know who he was)...awesome-14 pts in 14 min...pretty efficient (and quick) scorer!
