I have been a big fan of Pixar since Toy Story (one of my top 3 favorite movies) and I do plan on seeing this one. However, I must disagree with Mr. Stanton. Toy Story would have gone straight to video without Messers Hanks and Allen (as TS2 nearly did). The characters resemblance to the real life actors and the personalities coveyed through excellent line delivery made TS a cutting edge movie. Pixar has generally delivered in its subsequent movies but its marriage to Disney seems to be cranking out very formulaic product without the freshness and creativity that made Buzz and Woody a hit. Pixar should quit trying to do message movies and get back to their forte - making movies that truly touch us rather than trying to manipulate us.

What can they think of next? It's a blockbuster after blockbuster. They've always bring an originality to their story whereas many other movies are just a copy plot.

I love pixar, but every time I see an ad for this movie I cannot help but think of "no disassemble #5" but then I am old and most people probably do not remember that movie anyway and the kids that this movie is aimed at would never get the reference, so enjoy!

Human? | 11:51 a.m. June 26, 2008
They are never going to be human. They are only a collection of colored pixals and I think they should not have the same rights as humans. We need to be careful or these animated creatures will take over the world. Down with cartoons and all their various incarnations!

I can understand how people might think the film has an agenda regarding the environment and consumerism. However, I have read a few interviews with this guy and he explains that he came up with this story over 10 years ago. He says that if there seems to be an agenda, it is a coincidence and that was not his intention.
I think it looks great and have heard nothing but positive reviews, 4 stars in most cases.
