This is getting beyond rediculous! You missed the story about another former BYU golfer and golf analyst, Bobby Clampett, who got in trouble for using a word to describe a golfer of chinese descent. Somehow my friends and I here in this part of CA never got the memo on not being able to use that word (not that I have in years). This political correctness, and apologizing for it, has gone way too far.

I watched the whole U.S Open and loved Johnny Miller's Commentary. It would suck without him. Thats what everybody loves about him, he ACTUALLY ANALIZES the game. He is not afriad to say what he thinks about what club they use or anything. He even said a few times he didn't think Tiger was doing the right thing. Everyone knew what Johnny Miller ment and Rocco knew too. This is getting ridiculous.

johnny Miller made denigrating statements about Rocco Mediate and Italian Americans.
Referring to Mediate, who tied Tiger Woods in regular play forcing a playoff, Miller said, ""Mediate looks like the guy who cleans Tiger's swimming pool," and "Guys with the name Rocco don't get the trophy do they?"
This statement, which reeks of insolence and condescension, was immediately brought to the attention of Anthony Baratta, OSIA national president of CSJ, who demanded an on-air apology and suspension of Miller and will not accept Miller’s written statement claiming there wasn’t any ethnic intention. Baratta further comments “"If Johnny Miller had made a similar remark about Tiger Woods, he would have been fired, Miller has not appeared before the cameras to make amends and NBC has taken no action.
We demand that NBC step-up to the plate and discipline Miller.
Grazie,
Carol Carlson, CSJ Chair

I winced when I heard Johnny Miller's Rocco comment. It is just another example that reinforces the impression that he thinks that nobody deserves to win anything unless their name is 'Johnny' or 'Miller' and preferably both. He had a great run in his day but it's time he got over himself.
