Lock up the defense attorney with him. What a crock of crap!!! He is a cold blooded low life good for nothing killer. Let him rot in jail until the time we can execute him.

Malcolm deserves to be punished. Anyone carrying a gun is has an added responsibility to avoid confrontation so such a thing won't happen. Malcolm purposely invited a confrontation, then when it happened he shot the other guy. A conviction in this case is warranted.

Self-defense? | 3:23 p.m. June 24, 2008
Fists vs. guns? As soon as he pulled out that gun he intended grievous bodily harm, which became murder.

you people are so wise and all-knowing that you can sit here and pass judgment with even less information than the jury has heard so far~.

It sounds to me like Malcolm has go into this establishment on numerous occasions and gotten verbally abusive toward the employees.
They have the right to refuse service to anyone.
Jenkins was just protecting the employees, which is his job, and Malcolm made a threatening movement.
Did Malcolm have any marks on him from this confrontation?

In Germany of old the police were always right. In Russia of old the police were alwasys right. In many places the police are always right. In America even the most dispicable have the right to a trial. I'll bet that those of you who want him dead without a trial also kill amimals for sport. Why are you so angry? The defendant is a human being too. Let the jury deal with him. The rest of you go back to hating your mother in Law or killing animals. You might try helping someone that needs help. You might try being kind to someone. You might even try keeping your mouths shut so no ones knows what fools you are. Everyone makes mistakes. Let the jury deal with this man.

I am disappointed how quick people are passing judgment. They said the video would show what really happened. The video doesn't make mistakes. It sounds like the guy was leaving as asked. Guard don't have the right to attack people, especially since they didn't say Malcolm was being violent. The guard wasn't protecting anyone if Malcolm was leaving. His decision to go beat up an old man cost him his life. I hope we can all learn that violence is never necessary and when you take the law into your own hands, there may be a price to pay. Let's wait until all the evidence is in before passing judgment. None of us are all knowing!

until you see the video of the actual incident.
If had happened to any of us we would all want the same the innocent until proven guilty treatment.

The defense attorney is not a crook - they are doing his job, to defend the client to the best of his ability. We are fortunate to have such a legal system.

I am someone that frequents the store and knows that this is a man (Malcolm) that has caused problems on more than one occasion. I knew Verne personally and he was not a violent man, he was a man who believed in protecting the employees and customers of Sapp Bros. He was a man who believed everyone should be treated with respect and everyone should treat others with the same respect. He was a man who stood strong and made people feel safe. He did not give into the theory 'the customer is always right', his way was to talk first and act, if necessary afterwards. Malcolm was continuing to be a nuisance after he walked away from the counter, that is why Verne went to escort him out. There was never an attack, there was never an old man getting beat up! Verne was not just a 'someone' or a Security Guard at Sapp Bros, Verne was a father first, then a husband, a son, a brother, and to anyone who knew him, a friend.
