For years I have read the newspaper -- daily and thoroughly. When I was young, the first thing I went to was the "funnies". When I got active in community, the first thing I went to was local news and the letters to the editor. I am now older and I often read the obituaries first (watching for friends and acquaintances), but not until I read Ann Cannon's column each Monday. What a joy!
