I would strongly suggest that those who have not seen Pollack's Oscar-nominated comedy "Tootsie" do so immediately. Among the cinematic genres, comedy and horror have gone to seed in the worst way. "Tootsie" is brilliantly funny, insightful, heartfelt, touching. Everythingyou could want a comedy to be.

To watch the trailers for films like "You Don't Mess With The Zohan" and think we just lost the man who gave us "Tootsie" makes me want to cry.

The art of film is forever richer for the work of Sydney Pollack.

TO SEE A POLLACK FILM WAS A SHEAR DELIGHT AND DIRECTED THE GAMBIT FROM COMEDY TO SUSPENSE TO DRAMA;SIDNEY POLLACK DID IT ALL AND AS A MOVIE
GOER,WILL MISS HIS WORK AND MR.POLLACK HIMSELF
AS WILL MANY OTHERS,A GREAT DEAL.

AND AS A HUMANITARIAN,WHO WASN'T FUSSY IN HIS
LIFESTYLE OR HIS ACTING;WHEN YOU SAW HIM ON
SCREEN ACTING,YOU WERE LOOKING AT THE GENUINE
