I'm not even going to read this article... Just wanted to echo the previous comment, that the young man needs to get dressed. By the time these two are 18, they won't be wearing anything, just like the rest of the sleazy dance world...

Yes, who said a pre-requisite to dancing was being mostly naked. You can dress decent and dance well.
Congrats to them! | 8:47 a.m. May 21, 2008
They are very talented performers.

When I read the title I thought it was another lighthouse lounge story.

These two young people put in who knows how many hours and years of hard work and effort to perfect and become the best at what they do, not to mention overcoming adversity (her hearing) along the way. And all that you two can do is see sexuality in it! Comments like these enrage me because it's obvious that the only ones obsessed with sexuality are the ones claiming to be so moral. Nice! Congratulations to Brittany and Brandon.
one more thing to say | 9:13 a.m. May 21, 2008
I'm sure they would have been just as great clothed.
Sexualizing minors in our society is a pervasive problem and it is not helpful when "mainstream" events and institutions encourage it.

It makes me think of a comment President Mckay made when someone chastised him for watching the
Days of '47 parade and the girls that use to ride on the hoods of cars wearing bathing suits. His comment was, "All I saw was beauty. What did you see?" I do however admit that more cloths would be better. That still doen't stop me from watch and learning new steps and admiring the dancers as dancers. It is so neat that ballroom dancing has opened the eyes of the public and the desire to "really" dance.

Great job, kids! You're already very professional.

If you see "sexuality" in dress, I would say YOU are the one with the problem who sexualizes everything.

You need to recognize things like talent, commitment,
dedication, sacrifice, not only on the dancer's part, but they have families who I am sure have made great sacrifices to get these young people where they are today. Get your mind off the dark side. There is a big BRIGHT beautiful world out there.

I happen to know Brandon. I go to church with him every Sunday. He is an absolutely wonderful young man who works very hard and is extremely talented. It's great to see that is doing so well. Please stop the comments about their costumes. I could turn around and say the exact same things about the costumes your little girls wear on the dance team or cheerleading squad. Praise them for their talent and work ethic and leave it at that.

I think the lack of clothing is funny.

Your comment about cheerleader etc outfits is correct.
But two (or three or four etc etc) wrongs don't make a right.
The points being raised about costuming are appropriate and timely.
We're sure these are great kids but there is a bigger point to be made.

I don't get it | 5:00 p.m. May 21, 2008
So these 2 are incredible dancers and win a contest on a tv show and people come on here and start talking about how disappointed they are in the kids for the clothes they dance in. What a joke. Why don't we hear talk about how David A looks like a bum with the clothes he wears to sing on American Idol? Did he wear brown and tan pants with a faded black shirt? that was hideous. His pants are always terrible and his tshirts are completely emo and almost homosexual but since it is American Idol everyone loves him and doesn't care what he looks like. How two faced people are. The kids can dance!!!!! They are incredible and should be congratulated and praised!! My hat goes off to them for their hard work, dedication, and success. What great individuals. I would be so proud of them if they were my kids and I hope more kids and adults can look at them for inspiration and encouragement. Go luck to them and congratulations for all they have accomplished!
Clothes? Seriously? | 7:03 p.m. May 21, 2008
They are dancing! It's a costume! It is simply a CHEST! Good grief.
Congratulations to both of you...Brandon & Brittany. I saw you dance on the show and you were AMAZING! Such talent.

Brandon and Brittany are so Amazing. My two boys used to be on the same ballroom team with both of them. After putting in at least 40 hours a week and of course going to school full-time you have to be willing to sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice! And that is what they have both done! Brandon and Brittany You Rock and we are all so Proud of you both!
Congratulations | 5:38 p.m. May 24, 2008
Congratulations to Brandon and Brittany on a great job and to all your hard work! you both looked great. My kids are auditioning next month at the Vibe after seeing you on tv!

Please! People get a life. Utah is getting press for something other than plural marriage and child brides.
