I have nothing against the LDS Church. With that being said, it amazes me why some Mormons have such a perception complex. The thirst of these members to be acknowledged by outsiders is borderline obsessive. Be proud of your faith and stop worrying so much about what non-members think.

With all the media scrutiny of the FLDS church and claims of 'brainwashing' going on in that culture, the filming of 16 year olds saying things like "I know Joseph Smith was a prophet and I know the Book of Mormon is true" and showing it to all the world seems like a bad PR move to me. Sixteen year olds are at a very vulnerable time in their life, they are just starting to learn how to assimilate themselves into the adult world, most of them I would bet have never had a real trial of faith. Most of them just want to be be accepted by their peers. I'm certainly glad today that I don't have a video floating around the internet about what I thought about the world when I was sixteen! I think it would be better to film adults who more fully understand the repercussions of sharing personal things in a public forum, not teens who seem to have been coerced in youth camp setting.

I like this. What a great way to reach out to others to let them know your values and that if they want real change, increased peace and happiness they can find it. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is amazing and blesses millions.

Non LDS - I am sure from your perspective it would seem that most members have some sort of complex or seem over zealous. And I am sure some small minority of members do. But for most members it is not some form of complex or obsession it is a desire to express and share our shared and powerful testimonies of the restored gospel. I have a good friend and he is a die hard Bo-Sox fan. Every conversation is Boston this and Boston that. Is he obsessed? Form my perspective maybe yes. But from his and this other close friends and family that share his feelings. It is nothing more than sharing their mutual thoughts and feelings of something that is very important to them. It is part of their lives and culture.
I am a “fan” of this Church and all it stands for. Not everyone shares my (our) views or beliefs. But in the end I am sure it will all work out.

Trials come...faith and hope help people meet trials. Did you see the 16 year old talk about her Mother with Cancer? What a remarkable story of unity, faith, and people rallying around and turning their thoughts to God for help on behalf of another. To me this is "pure religion," as spoken of by James. God loves each of us, and especially his little ones ie children and youth. Keep the faith and "it will work out"!

To dave;
If the "Church" were true wouldn't it bless ALL and not just Millions?
Mormons think they are the only ones that God loves and until they realize how obviously narrow minded that is the rest of the world will continue to be critical.
Talk to me when you get a clue.

To ello,
Dave said "the Gospel of Jesus Christ" blesses millions, not Mormonism blesses millions. Heres your clue: stop being bitter. It is great to have teenagers post positive, life affirming messages online.

What ever makes anyone think Mormans believe that we are the only ones God loves? If that were true, then why is it that our missionaries spend hours on a daily basis to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Because God loves us all, not just Mormans. I think It's wonderful to see our young adults show there love of the Lord. "Great Job" They are our future.
