I find it interesting that the BYU baseball team dropped playing Southern Utah University Baseball for the lack of respect they receive in playing a Summitt league team. BYU would rather travel to Washington state to play a three game series than travel to southern utah to cultivate a rivalry. The instate games come at less expense and the money stays in state. Why not? The reason given is BYU has too much to loose. My answer is if you win their is no respect lost. All you have to do is win your conference tournament and go to the NCAA's. You are not seeded by your non-conference games. Why not teach your team to compete and save your boosters money.
