alright viewmont! but hey, you dont have the trophy yet.keep going strong
What a game! | 11:06 a.m. May 17, 2008
Way to go Vikings as you beat a great team and last year's champs. The defense was awesome (it hard's to defend a great corner kick or throw in in front of the goal as Jordan found out later). Keep up the monster season!
cole steffensen | 12:05 p.m. May 17, 2008
rush? lol...don't confuse the matter...
good guy | 12:48 p.m. May 17, 2008
I know that guy and he wasn't laughing at anyone. He was cheering for his kids' friends. He doesn't even have any kids on the VHS team. He's not the kind of person to want anyone hurt. His only comment was "Ouch, that will leave a mark." Pretty classless of you to point our someone and not know what he said.
Nostradomis | 12:49 p.m. May 17, 2008
Nostradomis is a newb, there are teams that are better than Rush.
noel steffensen | 12:54 p.m. May 17, 2008
or rutger's football!
To Noel | 1:10 p.m. May 17, 2008
Were you even at the game? This guy didn't do anything wrong. I was standing 10 feet from him. As for Rutgers, who cares about Rutgers football?
VHS parent | 1:12 p.m. May 17, 2008
To things. One is that this is about Viewmont and Jordan athletes. Second, the man in the endzone is a GREAT man and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He has kids on other teams and supports all VHS sports. It's unfair that anyone can make those attacks on a decent person. He only said, "That will leave a mark." Grow up.
Thanks Des News | 1:15 p.m. May 17, 2008
I appreciate the Des News showing character by removing the slanderous comments about the VHS "aprent."
Steffe... | 1:24 p.m. May 17, 2008
You should be focused on the GREAT game the freshman had.
Unknown | 2:33 p.m. May 17, 2008
steffensen got lucky anyways... props on your goal. You were in the right spot at the right time. But when you win let me know.

Viewmont made Jake Hustedt look like a fool! Go Vikings!
anonymous | 5:06 a.m. May 18, 2008
Hey Brighton, you might think Jordan was overrated but they have two championship rings on their fingers and you dont have any....go figure
haha | 9:59 a.m. May 18, 2008
good point. great point actually
Unknown | 10:39 a.m. May 18, 2008
Te rings on there fingers were from past players. that has nothing to do with the current players of the team so who even cares... Where is there ring this year... Exactly!
Vikes fan | 11:12 a.m. May 18, 2008
Jordan is NOT overrated. We watched the game and those kids were great in every aspect of the game. They played hard, smart, with great sportsmanship. A lot of you people could learn from this group of young me. Thanks for being a great team Jordan. Keep your heads up. We at VHS know you guys are great.
Record Straight | 1:11 p.m. May 18, 2008
The two rings on the senior's fingers are from their freshman and junior years. They did contribute to the state championship both times and who was it they beat in 2005? Viewmont has two more games to win so good luck.
Anonymous | 4:38 p.m. May 18, 2008
Once again your talking about the past... we don't care about that... this is the present. And like he said good luck viewmont with the rest of state
Jake Hudstedt | 10:11 a.m. May 19, 2008
Overrated.. No left foot. Just yells at his team. Viewmont's Colton is a much better player.
Anonymous | 10:49 a.m. May 19, 2008
alot of animosity towards a very talented player. Jealousy is unbecoming, or maybe it's envy? Either way who cares but those who are ignorant and spew hate. Someone feel slighted?
Anoymous | 11:09 a.m. May 19, 2008
Joel wasn't lucky. I've seen him play for years. He's an excellent player that's strong and very skilled. You do him a dis-service for all the years of hard work he's put in by diminishing his goal. It was anything but luck. If you want to look a little deeper. There's a pretty good club team he's on called the Blue Knights. It has about 14 players on it that played for 7 high school teams this year. Most of them Played Varsity for their respective high schools. Even though they were freshman. Copper Hills 3, Jordan 2, Riverton 1, Alta 2, Brighton 2, Murray 2 and Bingham 2. That's a pretty good showing in anyone's book.
So take that Nike Rush!
Go Alta! Go Brighton!

alta | 11:50 a.m. May 19, 2008
who cares viewmont. all you've talked about all year is how good you guys are. well wait until tomorrow when alta puts you guys in your place. alta's been playing superb as of late and good luck bringing them down now. they're on a mission and not even pesky little viewmont can stop them. good luck and i can't wait to see what you guys post after viewmont loses.
Third party.. | 1:09 p.m. May 19, 2008
I was at the game, just to watch some great soccer, not cheering for either side. Here are my thougts. I thought Jordan would be better. I thought Jake Hudstedt would be better. I think Viewmonts big man up front has just as much potential than the POY. Also, Viewmonts Colton was the best player on the pitch. Viewmonts midfield controlled the tempto, and put together some nice passes. I thought Jordan seemed arrogant, and looking to blame someone, anyone for their loss. Viewmont took it to them. It was a fun game, yet this was not the Championship game as many had predicted. The best 4 teams are still in the competition. I predict we will see a Viewmont vs Brighton final.
Don't hate on GREAT PLAYERS | 1:19 p.m. May 19, 2008
You can't say Jake Hustedt is overrated when he makes the region 4 region team mostly every year.
Must be good! | 3:23 p.m. May 19, 2008
He must be good if he can make the region 4 team even though he plays in region 2.
hey!! | 5:28 p.m. May 19, 2008
look im a fan for viewmont. i'll im saying is you shouldnt single out a player(jake)- he's not pro, he's not getting paid. you shouldnt attack him. he just wants to play soccer. i personally think he's alittle overratted myself- but thats the media's fault for putting so much attention on him. leave the kid alone.
Anonymous | 5:37 p.m. May 19, 2008
I MEANT THE ODP REGION 4 TEAM NOT THE HIGH SCHOOL REGION 4.
AYSO? | 6:44 p.m. May 19, 2008
Blue who?....never heard of them. Is it an rec team? All but two of the schools listed are no longer standing (not too impressive). Maybe these players fit the boom style of high school better? Hustedt benefitted greatly from Marco Angelo's play last year...doesn't have the help on his team that is needed...Viewmont wins 5A!!!
Who Cares? You're Out! | 6:56 p.m. May 19, 2008
The Jordan was all luck!
Anonymous | 9:44 p.m. May 19, 2008
everyone should just get over themselves and realize viewmont is going to win it all. so there.
Cheapseat | 8:13 a.m. May 20, 2008
Alta 3 Viewmont 1. Viewmont will try to intimidate Alta. It will be very physical game and Alta loves to be physical. It will play into Alta's hands. Alta will respond and Viewmont won't have an answer. The middle will be controlled by Alta and that's where the game is going to be won or lost.
Driving to Woods Cross to watch the game $10.00. Stopping to get a Drink along the way $3.00. Sitting on the sidelines watching Alta kick Viewmont's trash Priceless... For everyone else there's losing.

re:cheapseat | 10:45 a.m. May 20, 2008
the middle will be controlled by cookie, this game is very well matched and could go down to a shoot out, which Viewmont will win because Josh (GK) is very experienced at winning at this kind of game. We will walk over to the game, $0.00, it's about time the drive to JD was a killer the last couple of years....
Blue Knights | 5:57 p.m. May 21, 2008
The Blue Knights are a U16 Premier soccer team. They took 2nd in state this year. And to Mr. AYSO, when whole team make their High School teams and all play varsity that is something. Joel is a great player and you can expect great things to come from him. Brighton will take state (2-1) and so will the Blue Knights. GO BLUE KNIGHTS
Blue Who? | 9:33 p.m. May 21, 2008
check your facts before you publicly make a fool of you and your below average club. There are plenty of real clubs better than your AYSO outfit! The blue who's are weak!!!
re: Blue Knights | 7:40 a.m. May 22, 2008
Uh...this is an article about High School soccer not about rec. soccer. No one but you cares about your AYSO "2nd in state..." claim. Brighton will take state!
