Outstanding article. Really hits the nail on the head. Give everyone freedom to choose their way through the many opportunities out in the world - don't try to keep them behind walls.

Well done, sir.

The FLDS are in the grips of a ruthless state agency that is restrained by noone.

Hopefully, thats all those shepherd boys of Bolivia will find to look at on the internet--Dallas Cowboys football. Thats whats wrong with taking or exposing good, simple-living 2nd and 3rd world peoples to some of the absolute poison of the so-called blessed and enlightened 1st world countries. Wish we could somehow share all of the good, and not pervert them with the disgusting and inane parts of 1st world culture.

Way to dogpile on the weakest and smallest groups in society. As long as we can all agree this is a very peculiar bunch we can bravely join together to deprive these mothers of their children and Constitutional Rights, and throw out the presumption of innocent until proven guilty for religious beliefs we don't agree with. A little distortion of facts never hurt anyone if the opposition is weaker than we are.

You've penned another outstanding essay, Jerry, right on the mark. You bring enlightenment to this society, keep up the good work.

As for the FLDS, I'm incredibly weary of the propeganda spewed by pligs in this newspaper. Few people fall for it. Polygyny is not a religious right, it's an illegals barbaric patriarchal system that reduces women and children to property. Above all, it's a theocracy that seeks to overthrow democracy. Pligs are dedicated to disempowering the individual and deferring personal/inner spirituality to a male leader. They could benefit from the concept of the inner temple
