Let me get this straight. Members of the west side transition team lobby the legislature to remove proposed language allowing both teams to meet in closed meetings. They send out a public plea asking the community to join them in opposition to any measure that would allow transition teams to meet in closed meetings. Their chairman, Ralph Haws, sends a letter castigating those who would close meetings that are so clearly the public’s business.

After all of this tough talk, they hold illegal closed meetings.

This is unbelievable. These people knew the law. They fought to prevent the law from being changed. Then they break the very law they fought to maintain. This is hypocrisy it its best.
