The article reads,

"(The letter) addresses only east-side perceived needs and does not look at the district as as whole and where the demands and pressures are as far as expenditures," said J. Dale Christensen, president of the Jordan Board of Education.

So, what's changed? This whole fiasco came about because of their inability to "look at the district as a whole". This is not surprising!

I can't believe Wallace says: "the transition teams should stick to the job of deciding how to divide the district assets" and then says "It saddens me that the focus of the district division has turned to money and fund balances. Umm, aren't money and fund balances assets? The West is basically doing all they can to mess over the East. They should be cooperating.

I am extremely disappointed in the east-side board members who voted to "halt" the business of the school district. The school board cannot just sit by and wait for the transition teams. They have proven this will be a long, legal battle! The district needs to continue to function and look to the best interest of kids -- not a few politically minded east-side board members who have lost sight of their responsibility to students.
