Way to go Chunner!! You've still got some fans at Snow Canyon (you know who we are) and we're rooting for you. Go Region 9!

you mean there is a SC Fan cheering and not whinning, now we are going to see if PV is as good as they think they are and also Dixie. Both teams will be facing the best pitching they have seen from any 4A team this year. Go COTTONWOOD and CYPRUS !!!!!!!!!

All you 4 and 5A schools in Northern Utah are a joke. When the St.George schools came into 4A everyone said "Oh man this is 4A... the competition is soo much better here" and so on. Since the school year started look at what the three schools have done in you weak little 4A division. In football 2 southern Utah schools went far, Volleyball we dominated, Golf we dominated, Wrestling we were in the top 5, Girls and Boys BB did finished strong, and now softball and baseball they are rolling teams up as well.
Northern Utah seems to be all talk.
Plus you'd move down here if you could afford it.

We are proud of Dixie and know that they can make the whole of St. George proud next week. Nyberg is not only a dominate force on the mound and an all around great athlete and good kid. Dixie coaches instill sportsmanship in their players and they expect their players to have poise under pressure and respect for each other and the game. Good Luck to the Flyers and lets bring home another championship. We will all be cheering you on.
p.s. Who even knew Chunner's hand was sore? He didn't show it, but what else is new, he is the real deal! No whining here, but thanks Snow Canyon for the nice comments.

Please correct if I am wrong, but I dont see a championship trophy in any showcase from any region 9 school in the major sports (Basketball, Football, Baseball, Softball). Going far and finishing strong are not the same as WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP. Or is it WHINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP. Now you are all starting to sound like SC. Go Colts and Pirates
Colt & Piro fan | 11:57 a.m. May 15, 2008
Get over yourself. What have the Colts or Pirates done in any of the major sports this year, or any sports for that matter??? I believe it was Pine View that made it to the finals in football, SC & Pine View made it to quarters in basketball (and competed with the best). Dixie and Pine View are both in the semis in baseball. Need I say more!!! You sound like an SC whiner because you don't like the So. Utah teams being successfull.
Pitchers? | 12:00 p.m. May 15, 2008
Both PV and Dixie have faced Dedrick from Canyon View who is probably one of the top 2 or 3 pitchers in the state. Who could Cyprus or Cottonwood throw that can compare to that?? Both teams area ready.

I was at the game and Nyberg was all that was advertised. He kept Orem of balance all day with a variety or pitches, speeds and locations. As a parent or an Orem player, I have seen every game this year and this kid is by far the best our team faced all year. Therefore, I hope the Pirate fan is prepared to eat crow when they face this guy on Tuesday. Additionally, the Southern schools should have an advantage in baseball as they can play alot more because of the weather and in the short HS season it's tough for the Northern schools to catch up. Also, BIG northern schools?? Dixie has a higher enrollment than Orem from the numbers I have seen.

All this said, the main point is that C.Nyberg really is a heck of a smart beyond his years, crafty pitcher. He will beat pretty much any team around on a decent day. BUT, can thier other pitchers? We will see, that's a nice team down there.

"Go Colts and Pirates" we need to stick together because we don't want those southern schools to keep making statement after statement!
Give me a break Cottenwood. You whine more than anyone on here. What major championships have you won this year? Or what championships have you won at all this year? What about you Cypress? Hum....
Pine View will rock Cottenwood. It will feel like the first time they have ever played real ball. See ya!

It's time to put up or shut up! No doubt the 4 best teams in the state are left in the bracket.
Baseball fan | 4:06 p.m. May 15, 2008
Is Cottonwood open enrollment? How many players live in your school boundries? Cypress might be the real deal. I hope that both games are good and each of the teams have good showings. Nyberg is a very good pitcher and the defence behind him even make him look better. How about the offence? You also have to score to to win games. My hope is that the fans can just shut up and we get to see some very good 4A baseball next week. Good luck to all the teams.
Thank you Baseball fan! | 4:40 p.m. May 15, 2008
I just posted on the Pineview article about true competition and showing respect. True competitors respect the competition - trash talk...well, it is just that "trash talk" and certainly disprespectful in any form. Whatever the end result next week, every win will be hard fought by these young men. I am excited to watch both Dixie and Pineview play Cypress and Cottonwood. Good luck to all of you and a well deserved congrats is in order for your wins so far! You gotta love this game...

I am from St George, but I am sick of this seperation between north and south. It is like the civil war. There are great teams all over the state. Give the players the respect they are due. Dixie and Pine View have their hands full next week. Good luck to all teams still in the playoffs.

I have seen all of these teams play and what a great bunch of ball players they are how many teams would give anything to be where they are . You go guys play the best you ever have and have great fun . It has been a great year for your fans and to the rest of you grow up good luck 4A teams and 5A 3A
RE | 12:55 p.m. May 16, 2008
Thank you, baseball fan, CYPRUS is the real deal just ask Dixie's catcher. Re: 4AJOKERS, you should learn how to spell or at least proofread.

Nyberg vs. Jones and Dixie wins!!!!! whooooo whooooo!!!!
HS BB Fan | 9:16 p.m. May 16, 2008
Dixie and Cyprus are both great teams, it should be a great game.

And to 4A Joker, please don't assume that we don't live in So Utah because we can't afford it. It is a great place to visit though.

Northern Utah does have a shortened season, but our boys also learn to play in inclimate weather. Nothing like playing in 40 degree weather to make you tough!

Good luck to both teams on Tuesday.

Nyberg isn't the only player on Dixie. They are a well rounded team and many are very good and get over looked. So all those that are going to view these games next week, pay attention for some good baseball.
