I have a child much like this boy EXCEPT I took the advice of some educators and only allowed him to advance one year in school. He tutored students years older than himself. He is 16 and bored out of his mind! He has never really had any peers since he understands and communicates on a different level. I once found a similar child and they played chess. It was great but the other child graduated from high school and college and went on to teach college. My son has friends but few can really "play" on his level. Recent tests show his IQ to be near 200. My son was born with the wisdom of an old man. He was always worried about things like famine even as a 3 year old child. As he played with his legos he worried about the homeless or orphaned children.

Best of luck to him. Sounds like a great young man.
I guess I can't criticize because he seems to look happy....
