No surprises here...LP was always the most overrated team in the state. Not to take anything away from Weber...but LP wasn't ever going to make it out of the 1st round

We need to go back to playing like we did in 2005.

As a parent of a Weber player I just want to congratulate the Lone Peak team. They are a very good team, and I was sorry to see there season end like that, but that is soccer. I understand they are young and I know they will be back. Great game and very evenly matched. Weber really struggled in the first half with that new turf. Viewmont is the only other team in Region 1 with the artificial turf field but that is the wave of the future so get used to it. Lone Peak fans were great as well. Good soccer in Utah county for sure.

You were the most overrated team in the state. Region 4 was a joke if you would have played in region 7 yes that is 4A you wouldn't have made state.

Quit blaming the refs i've been watching organized soccer since the 70's the days of George Best, Emlyn Hughes and Keegan. I'm still shocked about how many parents and players don't understand SIMPLE rules like a hand ball and offsides. just score goals and the refs can't interfere in an outcome. GO UNITED BEAT CHELSEA!!!!

What are you talking about jordan won it in 05??? then Alta in 06 and Jordan again in 07. Didn't the paper say that regions 1 and 2 would be the dominant ones.. good call DN!
Go on CHELSEA!!!
Great Job Weber | 3:54 p.m. May 14, 2008
The Lone Peak Fan above that said we are the best in state is pretending to be from Lone Peak.

Troublemaker!

Weber played very good. Great kids and great fans. We came up short. They took it to us.

Good luck Weber.

Beat Chelsea and their Russian mob owner on his own turf in Moscow!

I personally think it was a great game. Weber played well, we had more opportunities and put more SOG than Weber did. But in the end they had the one strong player that wasn't shut down in the closing minutes. I love my team and the game. The commments above insulting my team are idiotic. We are a great team and if you have something to say, put your name down and take credit for you comments. As hard as it is to say good by to high school soccer, i wish weber the best of luck.

lone peak won the 4A championship in 2005. and tied jordan in a preseason game. they should have won that game.
preseason? | 1:16 p.m. May 15, 2008
Alta beat jordan that year 4-0 and 6-0 in the regular season, and by the time playoffs came around jordan beat alta 1-0. The jordan you played in the preseason that year was not the same jordan it was in the playoffs. Just face it they are different classes for a reason
question | 1:42 p.m. May 15, 2008
how come no matter how bad lone peak is in any sport and if they have a losing record they still get all of the attention of the news?? why not get different schools in there and the ones that are actually winning and playing good
hey question? | 3:04 p.m. May 15, 2008
"winning and playing good" I think it's playing well....obviously they don't teach grammar at your school. If you're going to insult someone try not sounding like an idiot.

At the end of the day, it was a great game of soccer. Lone Peak and Weber should both be proud of their accomplishments and sportsmanship. Both Weber and Lone Peak played with heart and intensity. At the end of the game it was obvious that both teams "Left it all on the field." Thanks to both teams for giving us such a great game to watch. Thanks and bravo to Lone Peak for hosting such a great game in an amazing facility with such wonderful fans. Hold your heads high boys! Well played! We would love to have you cheering us on (in spirit at least, it is a long drive) when we play Davis tomorrow. Congratulations to both teams. Good Luck tomorrow Weber!

Play on!

Deseret News mostly covers Utah County... They try to mention every team at least once, and then cover teams that make interesting stories. LP lost some preseason games, which would make their winning record in region interesting, don't you think? ;)
Re: Futbol Fan | 6:57 p.m. May 15, 2008
Well said, and Weber or Davis should come out of the lower bracket. I don't understand why Viewmont Region 1 champion is playing Jordan so early in the tourney. And then after beating Jordan they may have to play Alta if they are able to get past a scrappy Layton squad. Seems squewompus to me....

Way to go Cameron Ketch. That is a true player when you can take a loss and not whine about game. Your team and fans were great. Go Weber! Beat Davis!

Way to go Cameron Ketch. You're my hero!
