Ronnie is my boy! | 12:20 a.m. May 14, 2008
I had the chance to meet Ronnie a few weeks ago. The kid is incredibly humble, and just a nice nice person. Just to see him having an impact on the series makes me proud of my fellow UV alum. He works his butt off and it shows. Go Ronnie! Represent!

Clever title for the article...

This may sound corny but I think Ronnie Price is the epitome of the players that play for the Utah Jazz - for Jerry Sloan. Hardworking, small ego and tough as nails. It's just great to see someone like him succeed and get recognition. Go Ronnie! Go Jazz!

Being at the game Sunday I got to see Ronnie Price play and just watching him hustle up and down the court even after he took the shot from Turiaf was amazing to see. He could have easily just taken the rest of the game off but instead he went out with his 4 stitches and made the play of the game by hustling back and blocking Walton's shot. Now if all NBA players would hustle like that the game would be better to watch.

Shouldn't there be a limit for the amount of times that the DNews can use the "Price is Right" title...that has to be at least 10 this season.

Yet another orginal "Price is Right" headline. Ugh...
Same title different article | 9:53 a.m. May 14, 2008
The Price is Right... how original.

A friend was an assistant coach at UVSC when Price was playing, and he persuaded me to drive down to see him in action. Afterward he asked me what I thought Price's chances would be in the NBA. My reply: "I think he has all the offensive skills, but I wonder how he can defend bigger and quicker NBA players, especially the bigger guards who will post him up." The following year my pal called to say that he had been hearing the Kings were impressed with Ronnie's defense to the point that one of them called him the best defensive player on the Sacramento team. So I knew then that Price would make the NBA. He displayed some talent at Sacramento and probably should have played ahead of Bibby, but in this league it takes time for a player to prove himself under pressure, and with limited minutes available to undersize guards, that's a difficult task. But now we've seen enough of Ronnie on the court that we know he can guard big guards, even when they post him up due to his extreme quickness, wiry strength and extraordinary jumping ability. And he shoots well, hustles and is teachable.

Love Ronnie Price, hate the "Price Is Right" title. Can't you think of anything else?? How about "Price Inflation for Jazz" or something...
re:rich | 11:48 a.m. May 14, 2008
You had some good comments, but come on, he should have played ahead of Bibby??? Are you serious??? Bibby is a borderline all-star and one of the best perimeter shooters in the entire league. price is a backup whom the coach doesn't trust for more than 3 minutes at a time. I like price, but lets not get too crazy here.

This guy is a stud. I love watching him cause he puts everything hes got into every single play. I dont think Ive ever seen a player that tries as hard as he does. That huge block on Luke Walton was incredible and was a direct result of pure hustle and giving 110% 100% of the time.
Great story, great kid | 11:56 a.m. May 14, 2008
I had the chance to see Ronnie Price play against Snow College in Ephraim and could tell there was something very special about him. This is a great story with a terrific ending. It's always nice to see good people succeed and to do it the right way.

How about..."Ronnie Price is good"

"Sloan hates gas prices, loves Ronnie Price"
or
"Can you believe Jason Hart is still on the team"
or
"Slashing Prices...and Lakers"
or
"can I get a Price adjustment?"
or
"Price cuts...head AND Lakers!"
or
"Discount!!!"
or
"Price me!"
or
"Price is right!" oh ya, that one's perfect!
is hart still on the team | 12:34 p.m. May 14, 2008

I love the way Price plays, he's nothing but effort and hustle. If only all of our players put that much in to every game we would be even better. Ronnies example can be applied to all of us in what ever we do, work, play, ect. Your a good example Ronnie and will do good at whatever you do in life. How refreshing.

If Ostertag had Ronnie's desire he would have been an all star center.

I played baseball at UV when Price was there playing basketball. He was kind of a legend in that he was the only athlete on campus that was really a household name; let's face it - Athletics has an uphill climb in the popularity department at a commuter school like UV. What impressed me most wasn't his basketball. As the only athlete on campus worthy of a big head , he was far from it. Extremely humble guy. I must let it be known though, I do take credit for helping him pass a music class we had together. I mean someone had to give him a cd copy of the music listening portion of the final. You're welcome Ronnie, and keep it up. You da man.

I've done the math for anyone who is wondering. That is the 137th time the Des News has used the "Price is Right" headline. "Are you sure?" you say. "There have only been 93 games this season!" Doesn't matter. A little thing like originality never stops an editor from getting hard-hitting sports journalism to the masses.
