Economic downturn? This all started with the raise in the minimum wage. as you cannot legislate that a person is suddenly more productive, the raise simply de-valued the dollar, wich hurts those living on a fixed income the most.

umm, and the fact that the things we must buy are raising in price faster than our wages are.
