Show business is surely a worth business, how much better would it be though if instead of honoring kids who excel in show business, we give acolades to kids who excel in academics?

I PRAY FOR DAVID THAT HE WILL STAY TRUE TO HIS SELF AND TO GOD. I PRAY THAT NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE HIS FAITH FROM HIM..GOD I ASK IN JESUS NAME THAT YOU WOULD HELP HIM AND HIS FAMILY TO STAND STRONG DURING THIS TIME...THANK YOU GOD FOR KEEPING DAVID, AND I PRAY THAT HE WILL HONOR YOU WITH HIS SINGING AND DRAW MANY TO YOU .... USE HIM LORD FOR YOUR END TIME REVIVAL TO BRING THOSE THAT ARE HURTING TO YOU.. I PRAY FOR THE WISDOM OF GOD AND THE LEADING OF HIS SPIRIT TO GUIDE DAVID, AND LORD THAT YOU WOULD KEEP DAVIDS FEET FROM THE TRAPS OF THE ENEMY...THIS IS GODS MAN JUST LIKE JOSEPH HIS FAITH WILL BE TRIED, BUT I BELIEVE HE WILL STAND FOR WHAT IS RIGHT NO MATTER THE COST....NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO BRIBE HIM WITH MONEY OFFERS...HE WILL DRAW A LINE IN THE SAND AND KEEP THE BOUNDRIES HE HAS SET FOR HIMSELF.... AMEN

Tho shalt have no other Gods, before me.
Grow up people. With all that needs to be done in society, fawning over someone who can sing is just disgraceful.
Get over it, and do something useful with your time and your life.

This is not worship | 1:58 p.m. May 10, 2008
John, you must have never had a positive role model. There's nothing wrong with honoring and respecting an individual.
And you've obviously never been around teenagers. Whether you like it or not, they love music and the artists that make said music. It's nice for once to have someone with some standards and is an all around nice guy.

It's strange if not worship.
Yes, I was a teenager. We listen to rock. Teens don't like the music of their parents. It took me thirty years to realize my parents listened to some great music.
I think Hank William was a important part of the American anthology of music. Hank wasn't perfect.
Your role models aren't you kids role models.
I pity this kid. You have taken his youth and cast it it your imagined image. The journey from seventeen to twenty-seven is long. The game isn't over until all the cards have been played.

Sandy, take a valium.
David is just some no-name non-celebrity from Utah.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Maybe he can sing at the opening of a Bees game and consider himself 'famous.'
Get a life.
American Idol is a joke to 99% of the planet.
