Sharon,
Are we a bit testy today? I was at the U of U graduation that you speak of.

I was there supporting my son-in-law who was getting his masters. I had my 1 year old grand daughter with me, who at times was verbal.

I did not see all the disrespect that you speak of. I saw parents taking small children out when they were becoming too noisy.

How dare you tell us that our children and grand children should not be at this important time in the life of the graduate. Graduation is for "ALL" family members not just for some old cranky grandma.

Further proof the U is out of control. We need the mind-numbing control of byu, then things will be good.

The only disrespectful thing I saw at gradation was the speech of the nobel Laureate Mr. Capecci. Inspire the graduates, sir, don't make Graduation a political grandstand...and yes, I agree with what he said, but inappropriate setting. Oh, and the parking fiasco afterward could have been handled better.

At a graduation, children should be welcome if they are the type to not be noisy. It isn't fair to others in attendence to have children or anyone else who disrupts.

Mind numbing control of BYU is correct. If LDS is the "true" gospel, let the truth speak for itself. Why stifle questioning and opposing points of view? If LDS is true, it will stand on its own, if not it doesn't deserve to survive.

Truth as Joseph Smith stated will cut its own way.

You say 'Graduation is for "ALL" family members'. I wonder, just how much did your 1 year old grand daughter get out of the graduation? I'm sure it will be one of her fondest memories when she's older.

See Sharon, just some of the comments above show once again, how darn right rude we have all become. It would be nice to attend important functions without chaos and confusion. It happens at High School graduations also. They are boring enough for adults, let alone little ones. Do the children a favor and leave them home to enjoy the evening playing and running around.
under-medicated? | 1:42 p.m. May 9, 2008
I think Sharon Narus forgot to take her chill pills before she wrote that uptight letter.

Or perhaps instead of breaking the pill in half, why doesn't she just take the whole thing next time?

That's really funny, "under-medicated" @ 1:42.

I was proscribed some "chill pills" to get through my own graduation, which I agreed to attend only under duress.

My doc said I might want to break the pill in half, but swallowed the whole thing. Don't remember much after that, thank goodness. My mother wasn't very happy . . .

You don't need any pills Hatuletoh.
That's one of those "everything comes from outside of us" notions the conservatives believe so deeply in.

Try the "going within first" method (that liberals use)

With some patience and fortitude, you can do it.
