Your photo brings up a question. Why do we waste education money on mascots for elementary schools?

Orem Parent have you ever been to the area where the new Lakeview school is at? It is down in my neighborhood and although it will be nice to have a school there and it is a very nice school I believe it should not have been built...yet. Some people showed up and talked fancy to the neighborhood and the residents fell into a trap and now when you actually see the zoning for it all you see is a mess. It should still be in consideration and in planning. I think it was pushed through too fast and was poorly planned and zoned. I agree that we need to spend money on the children and to help better educate them but this was not a well thought process. The people involved should not get any congratulations because they really did not do a good job at all with the zoning and the location of the school. They did get a beautiful school and a very good principal(he was acutally my principal in elementary) but the planning was pathetic.

What money was wasted? The $1.95 for the floor tiles?
Give me a break. Please find something more to whine about in your comments.
Having a mascot leads to unity plus it gives the school a theme for all of the programs it will have during the next 100 years the school is there.
Sound educational practice.
