Dale - your sarcasm is not appreciated. After weeks of complaining about linking the FLDS group in Texas with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) in Slat Lake City (and around the world) maybe the reporter is just trying to be responsible. Why redicule someone who is trying to do what so many have been asking for?

You wasted this one, Dale.

Lamonte - you may be correct. The reporter may have been trying to do what is right. However, that will not score points with the elites of journalism. No LDS link will not do as much for a career as an LDS link, especially if it is an unwarranted link.

They didnt include LDS because the cult in question was not related to the LDS church. On the other hand, the FLDS church is related to the LDS church. Why would you assume that every sexual predatory cult is related to the LDS church?

No fr1nk; the LDS Church is not realted to the FLDS Church; except for the need by some people to justify their intolerance (perhaps we should blame Jews for the activities of the Westborough Baptist Church since they both believe in the Old Testament).

Sarcasm is a cheap substitute for original thought.

Man 'A' joins church 'a'. Later on, man 'A' leaves church, forms his own church 'b'. Church 'b' goes crazy and does all sort of nut-job things. Now, church 'A' is reponsible for man 'a' going crazy?
I'm catholic, so if I start a cult and that eats live animals and sexually abuses young childre, all of a sudden we should start to mention the catholic church and blame them for my actions, right? How can people be so blind and just openly dump hate on millions of people they don't even know?
Reminds me of the start of what happened in Rowanda. People turned on friends and neighbors that they had known for years simply because of false fears about the people. Let's smarten up for once people!

lamonte, Hi. I'm sorry if Dale's sarcasm offneded you, but I appreciated it. It is born of frustration and sometimes that's the best way we can think of of dealing with some things. It may not be the best way, but it does relieve some tension. Who knows? some pseudo-journalist may take notice of the public's reaction to their drivel and try to present a more professional product the next time around.

People who are most insecure are quickest to take umbrage.
