Robbing people while in disguise as a state trooper is despicable behavior. If found guilty, this guy deserves the maximum punishment.

Not only should this guy get the max, all crimes against other people should be punnished by the maximum punishment. Criminals are strangling our society and they know they can get away with it, that's why they do it!

Is there any reason why the UHP wouldnt confiscate his badge, and UHP clothing and materials when he retires? This is a prime example of why they should start doing that.

And to think that law enforcement can't figure out why people would ever get nervous around cops when the person hasn't done anything wrong. There are enough bad cops and former cops out there giving them a black eye. It's time to pass legislation that imposes serious penalties on anyone who betrays the public trust (including phony cops, real cops, prosecutors, law makers, judges, etc.) to further their own agenda.

I agree he should get the maximum penalty. Actions like this really erode the public's faith in law enforcement. However, don't generalize about all retired officers (who are also disgusted by this story). How many have retired and HAVE NOT committed crimes. But one bad apple casts a shadow on all of them.
I agree with ravlens2 is right on target: Criminals are destroying our society. It's time we got tough on them and worry more about the victims rights than the criminals.

A person is innocent until proven guilty, lets not rush to judgment until a jury of his peers determines the facts of the case as guaranteed in the constitution.

True, he's innocent until proven guilty. So, IF he's guilty, he's scum and should be imprisoned for the maximum and all his worldly possessions should be confiscated and sold to help pay off those he robbed.
