Having been a victim of abuse myself (my mum was an alcoholic and didnt realise) , she was violent all my childhood and wouldnt have had a clue that she was doing anything wrong.
I am happy to say that I am the mum to my son, that my mum wasnt to me.
I chose to "break the cycle" and no child of mine would ever suffer the way I did.
I have the Osmonds "Plan "(spiritual LP) to thank for that!
not all children are as lucky , and sometimes generations will carry on the learned behaviour of their parents.
I Thank God for realising that her problems werent mine, but the person doing the abusing has to want to stop!
it still lives with you forever, even when you have got on with your life, it was still your childhood, happy or otherwise!
