Cummard should be a lottery pick since the Y only recruits McDonalds All Americans in basketball and 4 or 5 star recruits in football.

I have always thought Cummard had a better chance (right now at least) of making an NBA team than Plaisted. Plaisted is an excellent athlete who can run the floor and get above the rim with the best of them. But his offense is very limited with no straight up or turn around jumper of really any distance and no ability to put the ball on the floor and drive to the hoop. He needs a senior year to develop that to even have a solid career overseas. Cummard, on the other hand, probably does not have a whole lot to improve on other than twenty to thirty pounds. He could be a great utility do-it-all Kirelinko-light on the right team.

The bottom line - Plaisted could really use his senior season to improve while Cummard is probably as good now as he will be at the end of his senior season. The question is whether either will be good enough to make an NBA team. If both stay we are a top 15 and two-win tourney team. If either leaves we are a third place MWC team. If both leave we get ten wins and start all over.

Well shoot!! Just when you think you've got something really special coming up the NBA (or NFL, as the case may be) rears its ugly head. I can't blame the kids when I consider the millions of dollars being dangled out there but it's disappointing anyway. I, for one, hope both Trent and Lee will be back.

Who's next? | 11:01 a.m. April 26, 2008
Who's going to declare next - Cosmo? For a team that hasn't won a NCAA tournament game since the Hoover administration, they must think they are pretty good.
They are pretty good | 12:55 p.m. April 26, 2008
Both of them will get drafted if they decide to go through with the draft. That means you are good in my opinion. I think that they both will improve there positions in the draft if they stay though, especially Plaisted. With a good senior season he could go early in the first.

This is great go get some additional position training for free and then return to school as part of a top 10 team next year. They should soar in the polls with all their talent. Then a final four run and maybe two first round draft picks in the NBA draft. All of these will be first for the cougar program. Also how about their in coming freshmen and the top post transfer. GO COUGS
Good choice.... | 12:23 a.m. April 27, 2008
by both Cummard and Plaisted. No reason not to test the waters. I'm a Ute fan but not the type to pretend that these guys aren’t good. I’m a lot more impressed with Cummard and think he has a better shot at making an NBA team.

I won't be surprised if either plays a year or two in the NBA, but in the long run I see each of these guys playing in Europe.
No chance | 6:49 p.m. April 27, 2008
I am as big a BYU fan as any but I honestly believe that neither of these guys have a chance to be drafted let alone play in the NBA. I don't know if another year will help but it work hurt.
ya right | 7:12 p.m. April 28, 2008
The thing is they will be Drafted but they will end up like Arojio. (sorry I don't know how to spell his name)they will be bench warmers and then eventually fall off the map. unless they do a lot of work this summer

Cummard could possibly make an NBA roster as a utility man, but Plaisted-NO WAY!! When is the last time a player that could only go left, no jump shot, no ball handling, and foul prone get drafted? Never. At best he could be a white Ben Wallace. Arujo had ten times more skill than Plaisted and how did he turn out.
Go Cougs 2008 BCS wreckers!!!
