Why open new facilites if volumes are down within the IHC region?

The volumes are down at LDS Hospital only, not the entire region. After speaking with friends at the new hospital in Murray, their volumes appear to be higher than expected. I can only imagine that a new hospital in Riverton, which is only going to be 44 beds to start, of which half are mom and baby beds, is needed in that part of the valley. With Daybreak, Riverton, Herriman, and Bluffdale growing as fast as they are, the need for more medical facilities is a need of the community. My guess on the whole LDS hospital issue is that Intermountain Healthcare underestimated the impact of the new hospital (Intermountain Medical Center, in Murray) being able to shift patient volume away from LDS hospital. I hope attrition and other positions within the company can absorb the needed loss. If not, I hope that Intermountain will hold on to their employees until they open the new hospital in Riverton, that sure seems like a good way to staff it, with experienced employees.
