It is good to see that a lot of Utes 2nd and 3rd stringers can hold there own.

I'm glad to consistently hear that Corbin Louks is doing well. I'm worried that Brian Johnson may never be 100%. This team has a lot of talent and experience all over the place. If the D-line comes together and the offense can find a groove this team could do great things. Go Utes!

i am very concerned. Our rivals down south have scaled back their practices because their coach has assessed that they have "accomplished all they can". Our team still has work to do, the offense needs to execute better. I am nervous that they are good enough to basically cut spring practices short but we are getting in all the work we can because se need it!

How come we haven't heard anything about Mack this spring? I haven't seen his name mentioned even once.

maybe they cut practice so they can catch water balloon tossers. I'd rather have the Utes not be content with where they are. You can always be better.

Just like Brett said you can all ways get better. Like the old saying goes “Practice makes perfect”. I think it is the injury bug itching down south, their starter L-Backer who is out for the season on a spring scrimmage play from last week. Coach down south can’t afford to lose anymore players. (Especially on a BCS run). A lot of pressure.

You don’t hear about byu 2nd string QB tearing it up like Corbin Louks. Corbin is the MAN. I don’t even know if byu has a 2nd string QB.

Let’s just get through today’s spring fling and hope all is well on the practice field. From what I have been reading about the Utes I am very pleased. I know great things will happen with this years team.

Go UTES!!!!!

To UteNation: just an update on Mack from those who have been at practice. In a nutshell, he looks quicker and about 10-15 lbs bigger. Asiata apparently looks very good (with limited contact) as well, doing better at blocking, but needs to improve on catching out of the backfield. All reports indicated that the two should make an excellent 1-2 punch.

There's no such thing as having ''accomplished all you can''. Especially with that brand new secondary they have to break in, and a back up quarterback who hasn't seen any live action. At the very least you have to push your second team players for WHEN someone goes does. Every team has injuries every year. Not preparing the backups would just be idiotic, and Mendenhall is no idiot. I hadn't heard anything about BYU cutting practices short, and would be surprised if someone like Mendenhall would do that. He prides himself on how hard he can push people and what he can get out of them. But, if he is...all the better for us.
