As always, Jerry Johnson hits the nail on the head. It seems strange nowadays that when I give a Sacrament talk that I have to explain who N. Eldon Tanner is, or who LeGrand Richards is. A personal favorite biography is N. Eldon Tanner: His Life and Service by G. Homer Durham. He was an amazing man! We are fortunate in this Church that there are so many leaders (and I include auxiliary and local leaders too), either now or in the past, who have lived exemplary lives that are worthy of study and emulation.

Jerry Johnston is right. When a general authority dies, so does his books, talks, and discussion of his contributions to the Kingdom of God. Yes, we should follow the living prophet, but we shouldn't forget the teachings and contributions of earlier prophets. I feel that all the teachings of all the prophets and apostles of this dispensation flow together in a continuous stream of Living Water from the Tree of Life. If I dare to be so bold as to suggest to LDS publishers to go back through the archives and bring back some books by B. H. Roberts, Orson F. Whitney and others. Thank-You
