The amazingest thing was, Syesha in the bottom three. WHAT?!??! Talk about left field. And Archuleta better step it up or he won't even make it to the five spot, my original prediction. Brook may still make it all the way, if Cook doesn't beat her out.

Seriously, dude, she ain't it.
Brooke, Cook, and Archie -- everyone else is a wildcard.

Brooke and David were horrible, shows how strong the LDS vote is with them remaining. Both are talented but have been choosing poor songs.

In context of the ever simmering argument about posting the ten commandments anywhere and everywhere, aren't we worshipping a false idol?

The idea behind the AI competition is to take something original, sing it well and sell it to the audience. David A. did that is spades Tuesday night regardless of what Mr. Cowell (Growl) said. I did not know the song he sang at all but he sang it beautifully and sold me on it as apparently he did to millions of other viewers. The judges are always saying "get out of your zone, take a risk, and don't just cover a well known song". Well David A. did that and Cowell panned him yet all three judges loved Kristy Cook for singing "God bless the USA". How original was that? Then Cowell accuses David of not picking the song himself. David set the record straight last night. He did pick the song himself (not his Dad Jeff) and he has great respect for the composer. More power to you David. You are great and very mature for your age. Go get the prize!

Simon is right on 99% of the time!
Archuleta is a socially awkward, fumbling and stuttering KID who lacks the poise to be the winner this year.
He seems to suffer from that false humility so many Mormons try to fake so they appear "good" and "righteous". It really is annoying, and that is why he won't win. People think he is CUTE, but CUTE and IDOL do not compute.

People need to stop playing the religion card. This article, this blog is about a tv show. There isn't one word about anyone's religion, but you bring it into your blog anyway. Grow up. (And, no, I'm not a David Archuletta fan, I think he's a whimp, and it has nothing to do with what church he goes to).
nojaa | 8:53 a.m. March 27, 2008
Idol and cute don't compute? Come on, look at some of the leftovers who don't sing all that well and are still on. David is at least a great singer -- and he has the teeny bop vote pretty well sewed up as well as ther grannys'. He is definitely top 3 material -- and that is not false modesty, tht is simply David. I think when Simon wants someone to succeed, he first tells it like it is then he nails them a time or two to insure that their fans keep voting. The whokle thing is show biz.
Re:89jaa | 8:59 a.m. March 27, 2008
Sounds like someone's been bitten by the "jealousy bug."
89jaa wishes he could be as successful as David Archuleta.
....And quit attacking the church!!! The article has nothing to do with religion.

At 7:51 you bash AI contestant David Archuleta for being a Mormon who fakes humility (it obviously takes a humble person to know one) and 57 minutes later get on to complain that religion is brought into discussion about American Idol contestants.
Nice.

Archulete does not need to be sent home. HIS FATHER DOES. His father gives a bad name to Utah and everything else. Doesn't this guy have a job to go to. Let someone else supervise
David.
David.

Whoa whoa whoa smokey joe... I hate to tell you this... But David A is the best singer on the show! it has NOTHING to do with that fact that he is a Mormon!! Absolutly NOTHING!!!! Guarantee you more then half of the votes for David are teenage girls that think he is attractive!! Same for Brooke.. teenage boys who think she is gorgeous!! Because Brooke is gorgeous!! But it has NOTHING to do with religion!!!
MoJules | 10:33 a.m. March 27, 2008
Every singer in the top ten, except Cook have had some bad moments. the reason that people like Brooke, David A and all the others are still around is that the fans remember the greats also. In 2006 the St. Louis Cardinals won the World Series with a 83-78 season. I believe that the early voting tends to be by emotion, but as it gets closer to the finals then it is based on many things. I personally think that the top three will be Cook, Brooke and David A, and actually I believe that is the order they will be in the end, unless Brooke really does amazing the rest of the time, she has the most personality and the teens like her. I love David A, but I don't want to see him win this, I think he is going to do well, but I don't think he is ready for this.
RE: non-believer | 10:40 a.m. March 27, 2008
Do you know David's father Jeff personally or do you just like to smear people? It may be news to you but it is a parental responsibility to supervise minor children.
re: non-believer | 10:50 a.m. March 27, 2008
I say give Archuleta's father a break. Do you know the context or authenticity of what has gone on between David and his father? I would guess that all you have are articles based on non-reputable newsgroups citing anonymous sources. Don't begin casting stones based on the assumption that everything those yellow journalists write must be accurate.

Top 3 will be: David Cook, David Archuleta, and Brooke White. And I think David A will be the winner. Rumor has it that he gets about 80% of the votes every week. Its that obsesseive teenage girl contingent that vote nonstop for 2 straight hours thinking that it will somehow get David to fall in love with them. Nobody can stop him...
RockOn | 11:37 a.m. March 27, 2008
Don't give Jeff Archuletta a break... he doesn't need one. He's doing EXACTLY what I and every responsible parent would do with a minor child... take the responsibility. At this point the Dad and Mom are all David A. needs... Look where it has gotten them. Seacrest doesn't even waste cheezy drama time on David just hurries through the comments and says "they love you." Yes, David A. gets the overwhelming votes because anyone who heard him sing "Imagine" can't forget it. The judges universally said that was the best ever performance on Idol. That has staying power and although I couldn't stand the song he sang last night, his Imagine performance still tops anyone.
David A. will be a singing sensation for all the positive and negative reasons listed on this site. Whine if you want, but that just shows your lack of understanding of the music game.
Frankly, I hope he DOESN'T win... I don't consider the singing profession a noble profession and its maelstrom has destroyed many. David is what he is from all reports. He's not putting on anything. But, that cesspool in Hollywood can ruin many and I hope it doesn't ruin him.

Given the last 2 winners od Idol,David A or Brooke would be a welcome relief! However, I think the other David will win.
Shiz | 1:15 p.m. March 27, 2008
The top four performers are David A, David C, Carly and Amanda. (Sorry Brooke Fans, Brooke is stiff and cannot perform when she is not hiding behind a piano. She is not and cannot become an AI.)
The first to be voted off should have been Kristy followed by Syesha.
It is a shame that Amanda and Chikesie are gone with those 2 still there.

that people like "non-believer" even listen to the crap that is being spewed by the likes of TMZ and Entertainment Tonight and whatever "non-journalistic" source that is reporting that David Archuleta's dad is the "crazy stage dad from hell". I don't know them personally, and I'll bet you don't either. So until we meet them and get to know them, let's just keep our mouths shut on the issue!
Joe Moe | 6:21 p.m. March 27, 2008
Whoever believes the rumor that Archuleta gets 80% of the vote needs to sit back and crank up their thinker a little bit. Even if he were the best, which he isn't, there's a dozen reasons why that rumor is obviously a con.

David Archuleta, if u r reading these blogs, just
continue to believe in yourself and continue to sing from your heart and soul.

David,
If you ever read these blogs, please know that we love you.We are rooting for you 1000%.When people try to pull you down, it's because you're on top. It's a crab attitude prevalent in humans to want to pull someone down to keep them company in their misery. Some people can never be happy with other people's successes. Sour-graping apparently helps them feel better about their sorry state.
I hope next week will be better than the last. David, you have the purest voice I have ever heard. It's very natural. Your tone is simply unmatched. I really believe you will make a great recording artist. I hope you will. You are young and already you are sooo good. I can't wait to hear you sing when you get to be in your 20's or older.
You are a great role model for a lot of young people out there. When people accuse you of being phony because you are so good and gracious, they seem to be saying that only those who project uncouth images must be real. So glad there's someone out there who is true to himself and others.Keep :).

I love music so much and this is my 2nd year to watch AI. I think an Amercian Idol should be someone who can first sing anything! Then that person should be a front person or appealing to the audiance. Third they should sing what people want to hear. I really like David A, Brook, Carley, Micheal Johns and Amanda. I new Amanda wasn't an AI but I still liked her style. I think Carleys voice is incredable and I like tattoos and Carleys tat is unique but it shouldn't be where it is. David Cook he voice is good however I can't put my finger on it but he doesn't appeal to me, I may be wrong but don't picture him as an American Idol. I like what he did with "Hello" but frankly he copied what someone else did with "Billie Jean". The whole point was it was not original by HIM! Brook, David A, Carley and Micheal Johns top 4! Don't know who will win.
