I do hope.... | 2:29 p.m. March 17, 2008
that this study will received a lot of attention to convince organizations out there to fully fund it.

I'm grateful for people who spend their lives researching to help us better understand the real consequences of actions. I hope these studies can help all those poor soldiers who are exposed to brain injuries. And maybe, just maybe, it might help us re-evaluate what activities we want our children to be involved in.

who experience concussions are at great risk. They need adults in their lives who will give them good counsel and protect them but too often those adults (coaches, parents) push them to keep playing

What if it's too late? After a stint of several months in hospital care and rehab, I returned to BYU to finish my degree. I talked to Dr. Bigler about his studies. I was told, with a pat on the head, I was not eligible for any study, because I was unconscious for too long.

Ten years later, my investment of a byu education, which I completed, with honors, has been entirely fruitless. Even if your brain recovers, your life never does. BYU gave me nothing but sympathy - the most expensive display of entirely contrived emotion I will ever experience, I'm sure.
Brain Injured | 5:14 p.m. March 17, 2008
I suffered a tbi(traumatic brain injury)from an auto accident in 2005. For 2 years I asked for the DTI test. My Neurologist kept insisting that the regular MRI was just as good as the DTI and refused to refer me for one. I had 2 MRI's with and w/o GAD (6 months apart) and it showed just a couple insignificant spots. I was told for 2 years that it was PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder)which I had also and it was just all in my head.

I finally had a DTI test done at University of Michigan 2 years post-accident. It showed multiple enhanced lesions and signal abnormalities in the Corpus Callosum.

If anybody out there suspects a brain injury and a regular MRI or CAT Scan(I believe used to detect bleeding or swelling only) comes back negative, please find a place that offers it and go get one. Use Google.
There is a big difference!

Having been knocked uncouncious six times in my 54yrs i am now suffering from the accumullated physiological damage, and wrongly treated with psychological medication. The medical proffesion should be ashamed of their role in adding to the suffering and mental turmoil of its victims!

Wow this tells me a lot and I agree about the medical industry! I would like a doctor that understands about the visual motion intolerance and the real answers to head injuries as I have been thru so much crap that it is ridiculous. Not able to function in public is disabling and I can't really put it in words, but you can't get rich on disability.
