there will be no playoff celebrations with our current big men roster. If we
want to celebrate in June we will need someone who can defend the likes of Tim
Duncan, Bynum, Gasol, ect. Fess is raw as can be but he's our only choice.
Get him on the roster now and get him ready to contribute 5-8 minutes a game

I bet he gets up at 5 am like the rest of us to see how the Jazz are doing and what move to make next. We should have lobbied harder to trade Collins, Hart and Miles for Dwight Howard. Man would we be good then.
The big story should be how the league allowed the Lakers to reload without giving up anything. Now thats the conspiracy. Bet we regret the Fisher move in the playoffs.

Jimmy likes Price in a Bobby Jackson/Leandro Barbosa type role, and thinks he is an adequate backup, but Jimmy hopes we can bring in some more competition for him next year in place of Hart. Preferably somebody with a pass first score second mentality, and maybe someone taller to guard 2's while Price can guard 1's with the second unit.

I agree that we will need Fes, but not right now. Fes is getting playing time
and in shape where he's at, if he comes now he won't get much playing
time, because Collins is not getting to play, the rotation off the bench is
Harpring, Price, Korver and Milsap. Maybe in April the Jazz can bring him in,
you bring him in now he won't be in shape for the playoffs.

How is it that the Deseret News and the SL Trib seem to have identical Jazz
stories on non-game days? Today it is the "Ronnie Price is doing good as a
backup" story--the Trib has it, the D News has it. This isn't a
time-specific story--there is no reason this story couldn't have been run
three days ago or tomorrow. Yet, the trib and the dnews both are running it
today, simultaneously. Do you guys collude or is there simply nothing else to
write about?

Brown is better than hart but Price is better than Brown he's like brown
but with better elevation, better defense and better shooting.
P.S. I wonder how this article is supposed to make Hart feel. It can't make him feel as bad as watching him blow leads and throwing up ill-advised shots made us feel the whole first half of the year.

Fess's next call-up will be his last according to the rules. Three times
is the max callups from the d league in a season--then he has to stay on the
roster. I would not be surprised to see him come up to start the playoffs. CJ
or Collins will be on the inactive list when he does.
Man is Okur streaky this season. Unfortunately the hot streaks have been rare. Just a while ago I thought he was "back". I wonder if he is injured again? Lousy jumping/rebounds/mobility usually and he passed up multiple open shots against the Hawks last game. That shows a real lack of confidence in himself which is a bad thing in the highly competitive Western Conference when every game is soooooo huge!!

no one wishes more than i that fess could help us out down the stretch and bang
with the big boys...unfortunately, he's just not ready...he'll
definately help us down the road, but for now, he's where he belongs....

Oh doubting Jazz fans listen up. I will jogg your memory a little. Last year
in the playoffs we played the Rockets with 7-6 Ming Yao. We had the same big
man. Remind me who one I forgot. A bunch of Espn writers picked who would make
it to the conf finals. Guess who got the most votes behind the Lakers. The
JAZZZZZZZZZZZ did? Thats right more than the spurs, suns and Mavs. We can
shut down Manu he aint going to score 40 on Brewer and kirelenko. The Lakers
are the only true test in the west.

Price is a nice BACKUP, OK, and that is it. Many of you are acting like he is
some sort of phenom and every GM in the league is on notice to give him a huge
contract as soon as he is avialable.
He is athletic but also very small. Did you see what happened on Friday when Mobley took him in the post??
Price is effective for 10 minutes a night and thats all. As a Jazz fan, I like the way he is playing, but lets not get carried away.

The Jazz will call up Fes but I hope Moto X that its before the playoffs. You
can't call on a guy at the pressure time of the season and expect him to be
used to all the plays and his teammates. Yeah they may run the same plays in
Orem but they are by different players. In the NBA playing so many games gets
you in a rhythm with your teammates. It would be good for the Jazz and for FES
to come in the one month before the playoffs and get him acclimated to the
players, the game, opposing biggies, and what Sloan expects of him.

What's up with the "Fess" up. How creative. I have to disagree
fact man. I with you do believe in the Jazz but I would not say the Lakers the
ONLY true test. Are you saying San Antonio, Houston, Phoenix, Dallas, New
Orleans are all chop liver? The west is tough and there are a handful of
contenders. The Jazz have a great chance with that being said San Antonio is
still the team to beat. They are the champs until de throwned. I think you
have to like the Jazz chances as much as any team. Also in case you have not
noticed Manu has KILLED the Jazz everytime we play him. I cannot stand Ginobili
just like the next Jazz fan but he is the most under the radar star in the
league and he can fill it up. So just don't underestimate the wild west
cause the playoffs will be crazy. GO JAZZ!

True, the Jazz need some help in the middle to spell Okur. Collins, bless his
heart is a fine citizen and good foul shooter, but not much in relief of Memo.
I kept wondering when Sloan would wake up to the fact that all Hart does is
dribble. Price can score and he handles the ball well on offense. He brings
energy to the game. Williams could remember that Kirilenko can also run the
pick and roll, so they don't starting defending the Jazz like they used to
do with a one dimensional pick and roll from Stockton to Malone.

Fess has a huge upside, but Collins does one thing well, and that's to
contain big, skillful centers. He makes things hard on the other team's
big guy. Nobody can handle the All Stars, such as Shaq, Duncan and Amare, but
he still makes them work. I'm afraid Fess isn't ready to take on
those guys. We don't need Fess on offense. He's fun to watch and is
amazingly quick and coordinated for a seven-footer. He'll be a joy to
watch in the future, I'm confident, but Sloan's job is to win games,
especially playoff games, and that's why he'll go with the Stanford
grad. However, I think I heard there's room for one more person on the
squad, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Fess called up in case we need
emergency help (remember when Dee Brown got hurt last year?).

billding. Jazz fans what is up with ya'll. First of all How can you say
Price is better than Hart? Hart has experience and takes smart shots and
facilitates the offence. I wood like to see more playing time for Collins becuz
I think he plays solid defence and the Jazz have enough offence. Until the Jazz
get there rotation write, they will struggle. Play Hart and let Collins play
more for defence, also Hart brings more defence to the table. Will see what
happens.

I know it's not the best option or a good long-term idea, but what is
Haffa's status with his overseas contract? If there was a way to bring him
for the playoffs this year, that would be 6 more fouls, and he did a very decent
job against Duncan in the post-season last year. Not someone we want to sign to
a multi-year deal, but for the rest of this season it would be a good help.
I'm not sure that this is the right year to try to rely on Fess in the
playoffs, and would hate to see him losing confidence after getting called fo
fouls every time Duncan touches the ball against him. Haffa, on the other hand,
would gladly use his fouls and make sure he deserved every call that went
against him (unlike Boozer's soft touch fouls all the time).

Dee Brown was an ideal backup point guard. He wanted to be here and was happy
with his role, he was a great teammate and supported the team in every way and
he had the skills to provide good minutes behind an obvious
"franchise" point guard.
The one and only reason he isn't here is SLOAN didn't like him. Jerry gets rid of players to easily because of some type of issue he has with each of them.

why would the jazz risk their playoff chances to develop fess for only 5-10 min
a game? if you guys haven't noticed the western conference race is awfully
close. the jazz are one losing steak away from being out of the playoff
picture. they can't afford to shake up a backup lineup that's finally
been settled. fess is just too raw and inexperienced to help the jazz right
now. hopefully next year fellas we'll see him instead of collins.

I want to see him dominate CAMBY on Wednesday just like he dominated Bynum last
time they played the lakers. Bynum looked like a stick figure playing next to
fes and he played like one also.

Cant anyone see that having fes on the court is an obvious improvemnt to defense? It is not a gamble to bring him up it is what needs to be done to win playoff games. With out him we will lose 2nd round guaranteed. To me it is more clear than price over hart.

Jazz fans get of the kick of Fess Dee Brown, and Hoffa. You only show your
ignorance when you make such ridiculous posts. You all think minor things like
that will make a difference this year, but I can assure you that it won't.
We need another year of experience and possibly a trade next year and you will
have your championship contender. It is not going to happen this year, so get

The lakers know that you need one, gthat is why they teaded gasol for brown and when bynum is healthy may have the best shot to to unseat the spurs who replaced a weak player with one with more physical presence.
You look at championship teams its a veritable who's who of 7 footers: wilt walton kareem olijawon moses parrish lambier shaq duncan.
Where is the list of champion 6.8/6.9 power forwards?
They may win a lot games and I guess jazz fans must be content with that, because thatt is all they are getting or all they have ever got.

Can anyone please explain the Lakers trade!? What a joke...there has got to be
major conspiracy. The league should really be in uproar or investigating this,

sure zombie chamberlain has lost a step or two, not to mention the occasional
limb, but he'd still be able to clog the lane and eat the occasional

hey froman 2 things: one harpring and collins can't be sent to the
d-league, and second have you not noticed how harpring can get into the head of
Artest and the denver thuggets? He brings a toughness that the entire team
lacks.
