What a kind and generous man! He makes you want to go out and do something kind today.

President Monson is a master story teller and I have
thoroughly enjoyed hearing his messages from his past experiences. I look forward with excitement to his leadership of our church.

Great story. He will be an outstanding President and Prophet.

If we observe the men that Pres Monson has chosen, through inspiration of the Lord, as his counselors, we see in Pres Erying a man of great intellect and who values education and soars high with vision and the comprehensive aspects that encompass the Kingdom of God on earth and the world at large. In Pres Uchtdorf we see a man who literally flies high amongst the clouds as a very capable pilot of the largest aircraft ever manufactured on the earth as well as a top executive, formerly, of one of the world's largest airlines. It is no secret Pres Monson is one who loves carrier pigeons who also soar and return with faithfulness and loyalty. In Matthew 13 there is great parable of birds who come and lodge in the branches, for a time, then fly back and that carries for us a typifying of the times in which we live when likened to the Restoration of the Gospel in this the dispensation of the fulness of times as a link regarding divine communication, that we are not left alone on this earth if we care to take heed and lend an ear, Russ.

President Monson still visits widows and shut-ins. My son works at a nursing home, and has literally run into President Monson in the hallways during his regular visits to people he knows.

President Monson is a good red-blooded Ute!

What a nice inspiring article. Many thanks for the author who put this wonderful article together. I am very familiar with the corner of 500 south and 200 west. It is such a busy intersection now with cars zooming down the streets. I'm sure it has changed much from President Monson's early boyhood. I wonder perhaps how he feels to drive down those streets and see the images of old houses still alive in your memory. I had no idea until tonight where exactly President Monson grew up, but old downtown Salt Lake City is a special place to have been the home of so many prophets of the Lord. Perhaps someday it will return to it's former quietness where families lived, and children played.

Thank God we have such a choice leader of the Church. President Monson is AWESOME, as a man and he will also be AWESOME as our President and Prophet. He is a great Utan, and role model for all of us.

I never thought I would live to be older than the president of the Church.

Monson will be a great Prophet and we will miss President Hinckley very much. What a great man he was!!

Nice to live at such a time when the baton of Church leadership changes by the infinite mercy of the Lord whose Church this is. I knew something was to happen but i did not know it was to be a mighty change as the first Presidency. This confirms what the Prohet Joseph Smith said that the Lord would always reveal his will to all an sundry that is in tune with his workings. President Monson is a rear bred, his story and directions have impacted on me. I hope to catch up with his stride for i know he would take us to another level of being close to the Lord. THANK GOD FOR A PROPHET
