Only 8 because word hasn't gotten out to teens yet that they can have an abortion without notifying thier parents. You can thank John Huntsman the Younger and our "conservative" legislature for that one. How would you like to be one of the parents of the girls who had an abortion without you knowing. Those 8 are an outrage! Kudo's to Sandstrom.

Joey,

I think you might want to dig a little deeper into the statistics you are quoting. As I heard in a couple of news reports, those who are legally married and still in their teens are counted in the statistics that provide you with your information. If you take those who are married out, the rate drops significantly and while any unwed teenage pregnancy is of concern, the rate isn't too alarming.

I'm not sure where the report is located; just going off the news reports. Anyone know the report location?

The author Mr. Richards has the answer to his question of why legislators would spend so much time on this: it plays so well with people like Mahershalalhashbaz.

Always count on Utah politicians to play the "think-of-the-CHILDREN" angle, and why not? It works so well.

Is that why you liberals use it so much for your save the children efforts (I mean-grow government bigger by giving health care to all children, increasing a Union I mean childrens school funding etc.??
