These Senators do not live in the real world. No wonder they can't realistically deal with the problems of the world, the war, this country, or everyday people. It's all about power, influence, and money - for themselves.

If they can't see that allowing themselves to legallly skirt ethical standards is wrong, there is no hope for any kind of responsible governance.

The article says Sen. Hatch's PAC raised $286,450 through October 2007, but it also says his PAC has received $1.3 million from the health care industry alone this year. Doesn't add up to me. Oh now I remember - it's the politicians' method of accounting.

Generally, I believe politics and religion should be kept as far apart as possible. But maybe it's time for all elected officials to be required to take a Vow of Poverty.

Another example of the good old boys making sure the good old boys stay in office. Our political donation system is a joke.
