Haslem for Boozer, wow that is a bad trade! Just as bad as KOC getting us into this mess to begin with, just as bad as signing AK to that max deal, just as bad as allowing a prototypical SG to go because he doesn't play 'defense' mark my words, we are going to be kicking ourselves when Mo Almond becomes a star! The Jazz are notorious for being unable to develop any sort of talent whatsoever with the exception of DWill, Stockton, and Malone. This team is going to be boring to watch because we are unable to bring in any sort of talent or any big names and we can't develop talent. What is left? Overachieving blue collar hard working players that only shine in this system because that is what gains PT here. What a shame!

Keep Boozer, let Milsap go, get Almond back and actually let him play, let Koufos actually play, let AK do what he does best, let Miles use his athleticism, let Brewer be the D-Stopper with AK and with DWill running the show we actually have an exciting team to cheer on.

Boozer for Beasley or the 3 way with GS and Chicago

If this trade goes down jazz fans sell your tickets because the jazz have just sold you out of a decent season and future to save some cash. If you want to win you got to do what all the other winnig teams are doing...paying the luxury tax. I dont like Boozer but he is a top PF in the game, geta fair trade or do nothing at all.

Booz for President!
TexasUTE | 5:06 p.m. July 16, 2009
I think the priority should be on keeping Milsap. Boozer is a sprained ankle away from his usual 40+ games on the bench. As to those who are pleading for Boozer to stay, just remember how well the Jazz were doing with Milsap starting in his place. Boozer came back and the Jazz got in their FUNK and dropped from the 2-3 spot in the West to the 8th spot. Milsap brings 100% every game and just imagine what a beast he will be when he has it in his mind (and pocketbook) that he and D-Will are running the show in Utah.
trade him to move on forward | 6:07 p.m. July 16, 2009
Haslem is a hardworker and a hustle player, he has championship experience with Miami, Boozer on the other hand is 20/10 guy but don't play defense.. Haslem can put up 8 to 10 points and a 7 to 9 rebounds a game, but plays tough defense, and also if I'm not mistaken he can shoot from 15ft when left wide open.. so basically you exchange Boozer for a role type of player..do I like the proposed trade? Yes!.. most Jazz fans will agree for sure, we just want to get rid of Boozer so the team can move on forward

awful, awful trade. be patient jazz
Good! | 6:46 p.m. July 16, 2009
Utah can now stop wishing for a Lamar / Boozer trade. Dr. Buss would never be dumb enough to trade Odom for Boozer. I'm hoping that Lakers are able to reach an agreement with Lamar.

Go Lakers!

I doubt Miami would do it, but the jazz trade boozer to miami, beasely to utah, blount or haslem to memphis, the jazz give their ny pick to miami, miami gives picks and/or cash to memphis. miami keeps wade, garuanteed, and they are improved with boozer rather than beasely. miami would be better with boozer than beasely, memphis gets enough cash to offset added salary, utah gets a good player too with a future in utah. I think it's possible, the hard part is prying beasley away as he's a high pick and only played one year, but without a doubt, miami improves themselves and would keep wade, for those reasons they might do it, and they'd get another high pick in the ny pick. as far as i seen beasely, i liked the way he plays, a little undersized, but athletic enough to get around, but he plays hard and I like that.

Looks like the bandwagon just rolled in... Go away, we're not talking about the Lakers.

Is it just me or did the Jazz do a TERRIBLE job playing their hand this offseason?

#1. Tell the world they will do whatever it takes to get Millsap back (and even gave a $$$ amount!)

#2. Back themselves into a corner with this Boozer trade. The team will end up with little to show for it

What else am I forgetting?
Desertwarrior | 8:04 p.m. July 16, 2009
Please this trade stinks so bad that the deployed soldiers of the 96th Sustainment Brigade can smell it all the way down here in Texas, and the stench is so bad it is sure to follow us all the to Iraq. Come on Kevin, if it improves the team???? No one has ever heard of these guys. If this deal goes through it's purely financial, which I understand the importance to keep Millsap in Utah, but please get some actual talent that will indeed improve the team.

This is an awful trade for the Jazz! Keep Boozer or get something close! Tyrus Thomas does have an upside but Haslem - no way!
Fire KOC | 8:28 p.m. July 16, 2009
I wish the Jazz's front office would read these posts because I, along with others, will not be buying season tickets if a trade for Haslem goes through. How does that make our team better?
think deep | 8:50 p.m. July 16, 2009
you guys don't know the meaning of a role player, we have offensive weapons already, we need role players, not another offensive type of player that don't play defense, guys please think deep ok

Boozer for Rip Hamilton-Sign Glen "big baby" Davis
Hollywood | 10:21 p.m. July 16, 2009
Those bashing the trade are missing the main points.
1. The Jazz expected Boozer to opt out.
2. The Jazz expected to re-sign Millsap.
3. Keeping Millsap and keeping Boozer would put the Jazz $10M over the Luxury tax limit, which means an extra $20M in payroll ($10M +$10M penalty).
4. Can anyone honestly believe the Miller family can afford to pay $20M extra in this economy?

Jazz had a simple choice:
A. Keep Boozer and let Portland have Millsap.
*Keeping Booz may have been better for 1 year, but then he walks after the season and we are left with Koufos as our PF.

B. Keep Millsap and trade as much of Boozer's salary as possible to a team with cap space.
*Trading Booz means we at least get a backup and have Paul signed for the next 4 years.

Remember, had Boozer opted out, we would have received NOTHING.

Haslem is a good backup PF who can start if Millsap misses a few games.

And the offense will be fine without a dominant PF. Okur can run the pick and pop while Millsap crashes the boards.

We need Kevin Garnett. Lets pull that one off.
Anonymous | 11:09 p.m. July 16, 2009
HA! It's finally starting to dawn on everybody that we'll be worse off without Boozer. Next season will be the same or worse as this past season without our leading scorer. Go Jazz!
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | 11:13 p.m. July 16, 2009
Please don't trade Boozer for Haslem! What a coup for Miami that would be! Don't do it!!!!!! Get some real talent in return, KOC. Think Rip Hamilton, Luol Deng, Kirk Hinrich, etc.
BCB | 11:41 p.m. July 16, 2009
All you guys amaze me that think there are all of these great deals out there for Boozer. You all should be GMs! The Boozer trade is very complicated for several reasons: 1-They Jazz don't want to trade for a guy that is making the same amount of money. That makes it very hard to get somebody of equal value. 2- Boozer only has 1 more year on his deal so a lot of teams aren't going to take him because he can leave after 1 year. 3- Boozer's value has declined dramatically after last season so teams aren't waiting in line to try and get this guy to play on their team.

As for those of you who want to trade for Beasely, you guys are freaking crazy! He plays no defense and is more selfish than Boozer. You have to look at this trade as Boozer for Millsap and whoever else they trade for.
Anonymous | 12:58 a.m. July 17, 2009
The Jazz would be giving Boozer "his dream come true" if he gets to go to Miami where his home is. The thing I hope that's not happening is if the Jazz are trying to facilitate Boozer like we did Fisher, and get some one mediocre in return.
Carlos | 11:46 a.m. July 17, 2009
DO NOT TRADE HASLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RE:RE: Good | 6:42 p.m. July 18, 2009
Sorry but I have read MANY comments about Odom on here and Jazz fans pushing for that trade to happen, that is the only reason I commented!

Hate to tell you but I'm not a bandwagon Laker fan! I've been a Laker fan for years although I'm sure we picked up a lot of "bandwagon fans" this year. It's easy to have that happen when you win!
