Honestly I don't like any of the trade proposals I've heard, but I guess it's probably not going to benefit the Jazz much if they wanna dump Boozer. Haslem is good, but he's not Boozer.

excellent...do it...had boozer opted out we would have received nothing for him anyway so anything we get in a trade now is gravy....the Jazz locker room will immediately look better with that cancer gone....

and for all the people that say he's a 20 and 10 guy ...stats can be deceiving..

Without Beasley this trade is a salary dump.In this "gasol" trade the part of Memphis will be played by Utah.Haslem would be the new back up to the old back up.Throw in the Knick pick and get Beasley in here!!! The trade as constituted is horrible I would rather have Wright than Haslem,
for that much cap space it might be worth it.

I don't know how this trade helps the Jazz other than saving them some money.

Haslem isn't a player that is going to keep us "fun and competitive" and as much as I dislike Boozer; this sounds like a very poor trade.

I don't know understand this team anymore. I hope this is a rumor like the Bulls-Thomas trade was and disappears in the wind.

This offseason is turning into another huge disappointment.

This improves much of anything. If Millsap is going to replace Boozer then Sloan has to adjust the implementation of his offense. The Jazz have to have an SG and SF who can shoot consistently and make their own shots.

Millsap can't run the pick and roll. Does not have an outside shot with range. Does not draw a double team and results in getting the paint packed.

Haslim is a back up PF and those can be had for the MLE. The Jazz are essentially trading Boozer for Haslim.

That really is not bright and that kind of deal can be had any day with a lot of teams.

The big problem is replacing Boozer with Millsap. Millsap does not improve the defense enough to offset his loss of offense and his negative effect on other positions.

The Jazz need the ideal PF. I do not know if a good one is available right now. Lee may be an option but how to get him? Further, will he play defense?

He scores and rebounds better than Millsap but will he fit the Jazz system and he wants more money.

Harp can be traded for a backup PF.

trade Booz to Miami and AK to Golden State for Turiaf and Randolph. Golden State gets AK and Wright and Haslem. Miami gets Boozer and some filler players to make the numbers match. the Jazz get a young athletic SF and a defensive type in Turiaf. Of course the numbers need to match up.

Go for it. Haslem would be a decent backup for Millsap. He is a decent rebounder and average on points. At least he's not a detriment to the team the way Boozer is. Heck, Haslem might even improve in the Jazz system since it tends to be based around the PF unlike Miami where it's all about the guards.

You don't want beasley he is a head case he has been arrested at least 4 or 5 times in the last 2 seasons and has been suspended for team violations. Haslam is a good player, at least he'll play all year long.

are you guys crazy? Haslem is a complete scrub - undersized like boozer and undertalented to boot. If the jazz pull the trigger on this deal, then they're confirming their commitment to mediocrity and stringing fans along. Millsap is not an answer at PF. This deal would instantly drop the Jazz to about 8th best (if lucky) in the West. At some point the jazz fans need to recognize the siren-song for what it is - the jazz are a cross-marketing/PR tool for the miller empire & NBA championships are completely secondary.

The trade would esentially be Haslem & Millsap for Boozer. I'm a little weary of the fact that Memphis would get draft picks. Who is going to give up the draft picks... and what round are we talking about here?

The Jazz have no leverage. They already told Boozer (whose made it public) that want to go another direction. Any possible trade partner knows that the Jazz really want to (1) keep Millsap, (2) not pay $12 million in luxury tax next year, and (3) don't want Boozer to even be in training camp. And of course, Booz is in the last year of his contract. Also, depending on how badly they want to avoid paying the luxury tax, they can't really afford to take back too much salary in return.

The big mistake, in my opinion, was when AK was demanding a trade 2-3 years ago. He had just re-discovered the fun of basketball again after playing for the Russian national team, and who knows, they may have even been able to get that Moscow team to take him via some sort of buyout settlement. AK's a solid player, but just not to the tune of $18 M. That's the killer with all of this. At the time KOC said they only received "pennies on the dollar" offers. Given the scenario now, they probably wish they could go back. Oh well.

Beasley has no defense and thinks he should be the center of attention...much like Boozer. Why do some of you want him so badly? Haslem is a great deal to save money and actually get a PF in return. With Milsap and Haz the Jazz will be better because of defense.

Wait til midseason to do the trade. Haslem for Boozer is a non starter. Mid season some team will be deciding to add a piece or make a run.. Then and only then will Boozer have trade value

on replacing Boozer with Millsap. AK, Brewer and Korver will need to be replaced with a SF and SG who can shoot, go to the rim, and play defense.

AK is hard to move for at least a year. At the moment there is no money to re sign much less replace Brewer.

The Jazz offensive efficiency drops a lot when Millsap play's PF. He effects the whole system negatively. He also does not improve the defense much.

The right combination of offensive efficiency and defense win championships.

The Jazz are going backwards at the moment and getting more expensive in the process of going backwards.

They can make a leap forward if they are patient, wise and careful about the moves they make this year and next. If they are not smart they will be a weaker team for years.

Not Haslam please. I am not big on Tyrus Thomas either but would much rather have him. Thomas brings shot blocking and potential upside in talent. Haslam is who he is. He's an average rebounde at best. Yes he gave the heat 8 rebounds a game but that was when playing 34 minutes (not a great rebound per minute average). This mostly benefits the Jazz relative to salary cap issues, but there are many more options in that regard that could provide that while also providing better on court talent. Haslam has one year left on his deal so money seems to be the big boo rah rah here. Will Haslam contribute and be back next year? Not likely. He has spent his entire life in Florida (high school, college and pros). Will he like this area? Sunshine dudes are hard to break into the cold.

I even like Kirk Hinrich in a trade to play behind D-Will and get much needed minutes at the 2 guard as well. He is a combo guard who could provide an outside shot (3 ball). The Jazz could also play Koufos at the PF behind Millsap, while having Memo and Fesenko at the center spot. I would think the Jazz would at some point, give these young prospects a shot before losing them without knowing what they can do. Koufos has the talent and the Jazz brought Fesenko back under contract again. What for? Sloan needs a better plan to support O'Connor and quit making Sloanaholics look to O'Connor to blame for all player personal blunders. Play some young players please!! Watch Moris Almond do well elsewhere. He has been noted for his defense in summer league. We know he can shoot. What gives?

This is a lame trade. Trading an All-Star for a back-up just to save a few million is not making this team better. Again, they need to find a way to trade AK. He is killing us with his contract. Even if they have to take on more salary for next season, they need to take that. That frees us up for next summer. At this rate, it appears that the Jazz don't care about winning next season anyway. If you're going to trade Boozer, at least get something decent out of him, like Randolph from GS. PLEASE DON'T MAKE THIS TRADE!!!

OK.. this would be an OK trade not getting better in fact weaker. But I don't see how this trade even works with Boozer at 12,657 mil and These two players at 9,987 mil... So unless there is another player or we get both Beasley and Haslem it seems unlikely!

agree with FIRE KOC. Jazz must get Beasley out of the deal to make it worth it. If Beasley doesnt work out its ok cause his contract finishes at the end of the season. I dont think Miami would be stupid enough to give up 2 PF for 1 knowing very well Boozer will probably be hurt. That would leave them without a PF. But i like the idea just dont think it would happen. And it saves them only 50 grand which is nothing.

Jazz get Haslem? We might as well keep Booz if that's the best offer we can come up with.

I know I am just a fan, a spectator, but a lot of decisions make me really question whether or not the staff knows what they are doing or if they just get lucky when things work out, and demonstrate their incompetence when they don't.

It just struck how disproportionate our disdain for Boozer is over AK. Must be a personality thing.

AK's contract ranks as one of the biggest busts in league history, yet we make excuses for him because he's a likable, and emotional kid with a big smile. He gives the impression (at least) that he cares.

Boozer looks like the cartoon character "Bluto" and is very candid and unemotional about what he wants out of his NBA career and we, well, hate his guts..

I think Boozer is a malingerer and a poor team-mate,
but at worst he's the second biggest disappointment in recent years at the Jazz. Interestingly, they were both signed within days of each other. I suppose it's time to take our medicine and move on, but all further personnel moves this year should be geared toward becoming a contender after next season. Haslam will be out of the league by the time the Jazz contend again.

The Jazz would rather have a proven veteran, whose a hard worker like Haslem, then a headcase like Beasley. Haslem is just what this team needs. We already have a ton of guys who can score. What we need is a tough defender, who can rebound, and play physical. Besides, why pay all that money for Millsap, and then trade for Beasley. There wouldn't be enough time for both of them at that position.

I don't care if the Jazz get anything. Just get cancerous boozer and his absurd paycheck off the roster. Either dump him now or pay him another year to not produce and bring the rest of the team down. We were better without him so let's get it over with already.
