CJ3 you said "The Jazz offense DID suffer w/o Boozer." Sounds like the logic of a Loozer Lover to me. If I remember right Williams was hurt, missed games and came back to soon from his injury. AK got shots and played with pain, got surgery and came back quickly to play. But all you can see is the Jazz played worse without Loozer. What a lame statement. Loozer Lover.
A Lie | 4:42 a.m. July 15, 2009
It's false. I'm pretty sure someone else pointed it out already, but this is actually inaccurate, that conversation between Boozer and the Jazz never took place.
CJ3 | 7:37 a.m. July 15, 2009
Jazzrule, it is fact, not love. Don't be ruled by hate.

Williams, who had a stretch of what...5 games of 30+ pts, Okur, Brewer, and Millsap all had their best offensive seasons to date, and yet the Jazz offense as a whole dropped off a ledge with it's leading scorer out for most of the year.

millsap's net worth (offense + defense x team dynamic x intangibles) trumps boozer's 20/10 x 37% of games played/defensive black hole-tourettes-like screaming.

either way, this is way too juicy not 2 love it! the trade possibilities could be cool: kirk heinrich & tyrus thomas, rip, scoula & battier... david lee or michael beasley, not so much.
spin doctors | 8:02 a.m. July 15, 2009
david locke's boozer-love over the last month and his insider scoop on boozer/miller conversation, "management says that never happened," (which is not the same as, it never happened)... it seemed suspicious - at first. Like, he was puffing up boozer's trade worth for mgmt, while they quietly shopped the booze. Like, Locke was channeling Clinton during impeachment trial. word parsing extraordinaire.

but think about it. boozer opts in for the multi-million-dollar safety blanket. boozer screws up millsap signing. boozer instantaneously wants to be traded. how does boozer's agent spin it? blame it on your old boss, carlos. blame it on greg miller. genius spin. and totally infuriating!
The NBA anticipates | 9:40 a.m. July 15, 2009
the cap to drop to 45-50 mill next year and to stay there for years.

The Jazz had better rethink signing Millsap. He can be replace for cheap by better. Boozer's expiring contract is worth blood. Don't give it away. 70-80% of the NBA will be fire selling next year. AKs contract will be very hard to move. If they sign Millsap they will be in debt and the lux tax for years.

Odom may be available for the MLE. It might be wise to make an offer. LA jerked their offer. He is talking to MIA. He may go to MIA instead of Boozer.

LA, SA, POR understand how to manage players and put together winning teams. The Jazz over pay and hope continuity will get them a little better. LA, SA, BOS, ORL, CLE, deal and make quantum leaps.

What is wrong with the Jazz? They seem incapable of adapting to the changing NBA. The NBA environment is shifting rapidly. The Jazz are insisting on getting on the wrong side of the mega trends.

They will destroy the franchise if they continue to pursue their destructive approach.

Obama could run the Jazz better.
Bus boys, garbage collectors | 10:03 a.m. July 15, 2009
and car salesman all know the economic environment is shifting. Unemployment is going up and the economy is going to stay bad for years. They and almost all of the working poor and middle class know it in their gut.

Stern claims next years cap will drop to 45 million. Signing Millsap will put the Jazz over the new cap even with all of the expiring contracts.

It does not matter how hard Millsap has worked. It does not matter how nice a guy he is. It does not matter if he is loved by the fans.

Over paying Millsap ruins any chance the Jazz have of getting a championship. He will never lead them to one and signing him will eliminate the chance to to get the right players over the next 2 years to insure financial stability and improve player quality.

Big name quality players are settling for the mle now and many more will in the future. The Jazz can rebuild for cheap if they will.

If they don't they will pay the luxury tax for a bad team.

Continuity is the exact wrong strategy in a shifting environment. The Jazz have to adapt now.

Odom balked at the LA offer. I love it!

Maybe that different direction means a lottery pick in the near future.

For the last time PORTLAND IS NOT BETTER THAN UTAH!!!!!!! They don't draft better, they don't win more, they don't do better through free agency, and they don't trade better. They won 6 whole games more than us last year!!! They were 1 and done just like us in the playoffs. Portland has only had 4 HOF players in their whole history, the same as Utah. We were the only team to have 2 players on both the Dream and Redeem teams. Get over Portland already!!! If you want to compare the Jazz to the Lakers or Boston you have a point they have done better. They also have HUGE advatages, over us. The only team that really compares is San Antonio, and they have even admited they are modeled after Utah! The Jazz are a very efficent and highly respected organization that cares about winning.

Odom will either go to POrtland or Dallas. If he goes to POrtland it will definitely make them a contender for the championships. As for Boozer, if he goes to the Bulls, the Bullz might actually have a shot. But we'll see. Reinsdorf is a scrooge.
Boozer Expects a Trade? | 2:30 p.m. July 15, 2009
Boozer also expects people are stupid enough to believe his LIES too. That does not necessarily mean it will happen though.

Exhibit A

Andrei Kirilenko

He went public over issues and wanted a trade. How did that pan out for him.

I hope if the Jazz can work a trade it is to some dog of a team who is a perennial loser.

Boozer ought to be prepared for the fact that if they can not get a trade for something decent that he too may become a backup on the bench.

I would love to see Sloan sit that lying sack on the bench until a trade could be worked out.

What a worthless piece of DNA.

This just in.. in an exclusive interview with an un-named wire service... Carlos said he could offer a clarification on his controversial meeting with a member of the Miller family. "In fact", said Carlos, "My meeting was with Larry Miller, and not Greg." Details of the meeting, and how and where it happened were still unclear... Carlos insists this should completely put to rest the speculation about his veracity.

Boozer thinks Larry Miller is running the team!

The Jazz may be trading Boozer and Harpring to Chicago for Thomas, Heinrich and Hunter (just aquired for 1.3 million which is the exact amount of money to make this trade work.) This saves the Jazz 5 million a year. They can then trade Heinrich to Portland (after they retains Millsap)
re: bus boys.... | 10:15 p.m. July 15, 2009
I completely agree with bus boys...
Spudman | 12:27 a.m. July 16, 2009
Boozer may have helped the jazz get to the WCF but he did not play defense against SA. If I remember right the only one who attempted to show up was Araujo. Ever since that Boozer has tanked like a lead balloon. You Boohoozer lovers are funny with the 'it's the organizations fault' line. Boohoozer did this to himself back in December and not to be suspect of him and his motives would be stupid he should keep his mouth shut if he doesn't want the criticism. He has done to the Jazz what he did to Cleveland. The only difference is Utah can get some value for his sorry excuse for hamstrings.
RE: Spud | 8:02 a.m. July 16, 2009
What comes out of Boozer's mouth isn't nearly as vitriolic as what's spewing out of yours!
The Jazz | 9:00 a.m. July 16, 2009
Will be intimidated easily if we trade boozer to the heat without getting beasley back in return. That will only tell players that the easiest way to get out of utah is to go on a local radio show somewhere and say you want to be traded. If they only take haslem and wright back the jazz FO and the millers are nothing but wimpering milksops.
CJ3 | 9:36 a.m. July 16, 2009
Haslem? Oh boy.

Think if we stack Millsap on Haslem's shoulders at the 4 anyone would notice?

The league gets bigger at the 4 as the Jazz go in "another direction."
Gahhhhhh | 2:44 p.m. July 17, 2009
I am so sick of fans saying that we need to back off just because he made some comments back in December. HE IS ALWAYS INJURED. And he took TWO MONTHS to decide on having surgery. Isn't that reason enough to trade someone? It is not all about the comments. Maybe you should try reading what EVERYONE is saying before flapping your lips.
SJ | 3:15 p.m. July 17, 2009
Hey bus boys and your lackey that agrees with you. Which of the three occupations do you hold? It's obvously not sports management.
Re: Gahhhhhh | 4:51 p.m. July 17, 2009
The real story is the Jazz and their Dr's wanted to take the conservative approach and opted to try the rehab aapproach. O'Conner went public on 1320 that Boozer had done evrything they asked him to do. It was only then that they opted for surgery. The only thing Boozer did was go back to Dr Ferkle in Calif who had done his foot surgery. As I recall the Jazz Doctors couldn't even find the pieces floating around in his knee....let alone repair it.

You might want to refresh your memory on this one!
spudman | 1:44 p.m. July 22, 2009
update: boozer is being traded back to the state of Alaska where Alaska will trade to Portland all the frozen reefer there (frozen is better) and Portland will send Pryzbilla and a 1st rounder to the Jazz. :)
