Agreed. Idiotic, poser macho but actually very wimpy sport that disguises itself as "culture," in much the same way that dogfighting does. A rodeo clown does a much better and more humane job of "bull fighting" than these Mickey Mouse ear matadors do and we laugh and point. These jerks soften the bull up to the point of near death then bravely shove their swords into a dying beast. Wow--look at our culture amigos!" Sickening. And then there are the sad souls who don't have what it takes to take part in this spectacle, so they choose to brag to their girlfriends that they "ran with the bulls." More like, ran like a frightened schoolgirl and tried to not get hurt. If one gets bruised, you can bet he'll display where that wound used to be for the rest of his life. I'll agree that our infatuation with some of our sports is a bit idiotic. But bullfighting-and the running of the Pamplona bulls, takes the cake.
