If the Jazz use their head not their heart we have to let Paul go. That is too much money. Plus Portland is just bluffing let them enjoy overpaying and screwing their chances of getting a free agent. That's a team that needs a guard not a PF. If I was KOC I call Paul and say Paul we love you but we can't keep you. Good luck in Portland.

It's A No Brainer | 5:24 p.m. July 10, 2009
Let Milsap go and go to the Knicks with a trade for Boozer. They get Booze(and maybe their pick back) we get David Lee in a sign and trade with Lee getting a 4 year worth 30 mil, and Jeffries.

bye bye millsap. I can't wait to see Boozer wail on you when we play portland. Then everyone will see that Boozer really is deserving of his all star status and be glad he's on our team. I don't know if I'm down with a trade scenario. Alas another player falls for the lure of big bucks. at 8 mil a year that is way too much for a millsap type player.

won't end if Milsap goes to Portland. It would be nice to keep him here no doubt, but if he leaves Sloan will get someone else to step up. Anyone out there think Koufos should get significantly more playing time? That he'd be the new Milsap - popular, hard worker, someone you could count on - if asked?

The Jazz will match if they can trade Boozer in the next week. If the Jazz can't trade Boozer in the next week, say bye bye to Millsap. Or what they may do is do the three way deal with Portland and Chicago bring in Power Forward Tyrus Thomas who is a better defender than Boozer and far cheaper than either at $4.7 million this next season. It makes sense too, since the Jazz just gave Okur a 2 year extension.

I was just watching an interview with Chris Broussard from ESPN. He was saying he had spoken with KOC and KOC had indicated that getting Millsap back is priority #1 and (as many on the board have be correctly speculating) are doing everything they can to move Boozer in order to do so. Looks like Boozer has given his blessing to being traded (big surprise).

Anyway, although I absolutely love Millsap (definitely one of my top 3-4 favorite Jazz players) I think the Jazz would be foolhardy to match. Way too much money for a 6'6" PF, especially with the salary cap projected to go down again in 2010-11. If the Jazz can move Boozer in the next 7 days, though, it looks like they may do just that. Oh well, I hope the front office thinks this one through well before pulling the trigger.

I think the Jazz match | 5:44 p.m. July 10, 2009
It's a hard sel to the fan base. The the signing of CJ looks really stupid.

This year is not looking good. | 5:45 p.m. July 10, 2009
I think this should be a restructuring year for the jazz. Let's use this year to set ourselves up for next year. Their will be a top 10 draft pick for us, and plenty of high contributing free agents out there. This year do what you must and get ready for next year. I am not saying we don't go out and play as best we can this year or work deal that will help now, but don't make the mistake of not looking at next year lot's of possibilities.

Paul Milsap | 5:46 p.m. July 10, 2009
I hate to lose Paul. He plays the game the way it should be played. Humble, even though he is very good, and a hard worker. Not too many of those left in the NBA. But if he has to leave, I'm glad he's getting a good pay-day. He deserves it.

I really like to see them set rid of Boozer and keep Paul. Booz is just coasting... putting in his time and taking it easy while continuing to cash his checks. He doesn't deserve the money he is being paid. He knows it and we all know it. Paul will continue to work hard and get better. Booz is already in semi-retirement. I say cut him loose.

Ohh well! | 5:47 p.m. July 10, 2009
I like Milsap a whole lot but we should let hime go. That is a lot of money for a player who seemed to get beat up towards the middle of the season. Sure he was playing really well but his knees started to give out mid-season, his numbers dropped dramatically after that. We can trade Boozer and get a decent PF that can defend and score. If we can "dump" Boozer we have money to spend. Either that or we can get an equal trade for him. David Lee is a RFA right? Why not offer him a deal? With him out of NY that hurts NY and may add value to the draft pick they owe us next season. We could possibly have a top 5 pick if Lee is gone, that would be great!

Boozer is already gone it just hasn't happened yet. The Jazz had better match or they'll be wondering where their starting PF is going to come from. According to Chris Broussard, who broke the story at ESPN, the Jazz have informed Boozer that they have "no plans to offer him a long term deal past the end of this season"!........to which Carlos answered, "then get it done as soon as possible".
