Well, I suppose the U 0F U needs to sue these evil deviates, HBO.... They are nothing but a porn trash station anyway.

Some people just need to GROW UP! Our freedoms are sooooooooo dictated any more, thank a vet, but whiners are the ones who are getting all the freedoms to choose for the rest of US! The show is a show! If you don't like the show, it's because you never really watched it! Do you believe in Spiderman too?

... HBO woudn't have a problem with anyone/everyone using their logo for whatever purposes they felt like, right?

I agree with the secession idea. When Utah wanted to become a State, it gave up polygamy. Now that the least thing offends them, they want to sue. Utah has become the laughing stock of the nation. Intolerance of gays, using college logo, not having access to records to perform some weird temple ritual...all this victim syndrome needs to stop. Why not just secede, make up your own set of rules and quit embarassing the rest of the country with your "mini theocracy"? The rest of the country would like to be in the 21st Century. Do us all a favor and secede.

So, I can't take a University image and make my own T-shirt out of it, but HBO thinks they can take the same image and place it in it's TV series? If nothing else, the U of U should receive some royalty for use of their image on TV.

Hey, if I'm not going to bitch and moan about the temple ceremony being shown on HBO, certainly the U can get over having their offensive logo being shown to the world.

So apparently someone thought that the U of U (a state owned school) would be able to authenticate a letter! Is that bad publicity?

I also believe HBO is a smut outfit and won't have it in my home.
Also as a graduate of the U of U, I am personally offended over the use of the U Logo in something that carries with it such a negative connotation.

I'm sure the U has received some heat from backwater, idiot Utah legislators over the U's logo in the show, thinking they condoned its use. So, the U, to appease these legislators who control their state funding, has to make it clear that they did not approve of it.

Like so many laws suits, Utah will loose. This use isn't any violation of fair use. It's common knowledge that "Big Love" is fictional.

What I want to know is if the BYU bookstore's ban on Boy George songs is still in place?

Just another example of out-of-control IP law. I certainly hope UofU loses this case.
