And his friend should be stripped of his police pension and charged with obstruction of justice.

Shouldn't Cook be prosecuted for aiding and abeting?
Leaves too many questions | 5:22 p.m. July 10, 2009
Leaves lots of questions if this is the first time to read about the case.

What happened that brought this case up again? Did Steve Cook start feeling guilty, finally? Or did Rigby decide that he may as well deal with this before he died? Or was there some new evidence?

Did Rigby marry the girlfriend - or anyone else?

What happened in the original case?

I think both Rigby and Cook need to be dealt with. This case shows if you get away with it long enough, when it does come up, it can be easily swept under a rug. It doesn't change the fact that someone lost their life.

If Cook knew about this and kept it hidden, he should have some punishment coming his way as well. Shame on him for being in a position of seeking justice for the victim but being judge and jury and offering mercy to the offender.

Looks like he needed free medical care, free housing and three meals a day.

No it doesn't change that someone has lost a life. But I feel that just because you have made a mistake in your life doesn't mean that people can sit and say stupid things about you! I know that none of you have never made a mistake in your lives. How do you know that there is not more to the story? How do you know that the other guy didn't start it and try to do the same thing? Don't be so fast to judge and think you know the whole story! I personally know some members of the Rigby family and they are some of the most loving and caring people you could ever meet!
