That is an understatement. Try never with socialist programs as a solution.

Wow, the recovery is 'a ways off'; imagine that. Ithought by spending billions of our dollars it was supposed to just bounce right back. Amazing...That picture really tells the money spending story. I hope people remember during the next election which can't come soon enough

don't you mean trillions, not billions? There is a great difference, but we don't seem to note it anymore.
When I look at these photos of the most powerful socialist/communists in the world conspiring to destroy world economies and gain ultimate power, I want to puke!

Obama said, "If you pass my $2 Trillion Stiumulus package then unemployment will not go above 8%" Let's see we are well past that. He claims he created or saved 150,000 jobs. We lose that many in a week, so, he saved us one more week of employement?

Now he claims to need another $1 Trillion for health care. They keep bumping the numbers up from 46 Million to 50 Million. The actual numbers that they are reporting is 45.7 Million. That includes illegals, those who refuse to get health insurance even though they could, others who qualify for medicad but won't get off their buts to apply. The question they asked to get their 50 million is "Have you gone without insurance at some point during the past year?" That's it. CNN estimates the number should be closer to 9 million people. So we're spending $1 Trillion to give health insurance to 9 million people that refuse to get it.

Change we need? Change we can believe in?
Economic collapse averted | 9:03 a.m. July 10, 2009
When Obama came to office the economy was in free fall. The Dow was losing 700 - 800 points a day, banks were not lending and unemployment was dropping like a rock. Times are still difficult, there is a hard road ahead, but at least we have stable markets, banks are lending and our economy is stabilizing.

The USA has been a socialist democracy for most of our lifetimes. We have social security, medicare, interstate highways, and many other national programs. Using the word socialism is simply a scare tactic used by the right wingers to scare Americans who do not understand the difference between socialism and communism. The question is not whether we are socialist, but how socialist we will become.

Many, more socialist, European democracies that regulated their banks, averted the housing bubble, bank collapse debacle and are therefore much healthier financially today than we are.

Total state ownership of business is bad, but so is unregulated capitalism. We must find a balance that works for US and quit the name calling and scare tactics for political gain.

What planet are you living on? Where do you get your information that things are stablizing? The whole collapse of the economy was brought on , in large measure, by these same meddleing politicians that are now in charge of fixing the problem they created! Wow! its amazing the coolaid that is being drunk by a large percentage of our population.
Wake up!
ps. capitalism has been regulated just fine, in fact, it has been over regulated. The only ones gaining the system are the tax cheats in charge.

All you geniuses. After five months, you expect the economy to turn around after years of it being set up for the fall. YOu may hate Obama, but he is not the cause, and until you put up any new ideas, not just the ones from the past Administration that led us here, then shut up. The stimulus is an 18 month or more program. Also, we cannot control what goes on in the rest of the world. And attacks on socialism, whatever you think that may be, is an ideological cop-out.

When President Barack Obama tells us, that a lasting worldwide economic recovery is still a ways off, a feeding frenzy starts-up, from the yip yap's in the conservative movement, yelling about, who will pay for this, and, why should our great grand-children have to pay for this hype. and fear of loss kicks in. They worry more about this, then perks, such as "PORK" spending. Such as, the The Klingon Vice President Biden warned us that there would be waste in the stimulus bill. The latest proof comes from the General Services Administration, which announced that the Obama administration is spending $18 million to redesign the Recovery dot gov website to show Americans just where their hard-earned tax dollars are being spent. This is unreal and outrageous. If the Obama administration is willing to devote $18 million in taxpayer dollars to a website, imagine what government-run health care will charge taxpayers for an MRI. That's where the focus should be on. I am glad I can be the first to comment on this story, and really educate ya'll. Someone has to.

They worry more about this, then perks, such as "PORK" spending.
