DO IT!!! Thomas is a genetic freak. He is a huge upgrade defensively and would produce here. His offense is up and down but he is only going into his 4th year. If he puts it all together watch out. The upside on this kid is unreal.

If that is all we get for Boozer, keep him and let him walk at the end of the season. Thomas has been a complete disappointment since leaving college early. Athletic but not a well rounded basketball player. I hope Kevin comes to his senses soon.

It would be safe to say that the Jazz organization is tired of Boozer's dance. I would appear that he will never put on a Jazz uniform again. It scares me that if Boozer is gone that we will way overpay Millsap to keep him around.

The Jazz would only do this to get under the cap. I guess you do what you gotta do, but I think they could do better than this. Just glad to know they're gonna dump Boozer. I just don't like watching the guy play basketball, or talk afterwards.

Why would the jazz make a trade that would benefit a division rival? Why don't we send boozer to chicago for heinrich and someone other than thomas and leave portland out of the equation? Heinrich would be a much needed back up pg way better than price and the rook.

Boozer will bring a lot to the Jazz this season if he stays. Fans need to let things go. If Boozer stays this season and is gone after the season, then things would probably work out better.

A.K., Booze & Miles to Chicago for Miller, Hindrich, & Thomas. Throw Maynor & Suton in on the deal & or Price. Sign & trade Milsap to Portland, Portland sends Outlaw to Sacramento, who sends Nocioni to Utah. sending Maynor, Suton, Price and Harprings expiring contract in to make the deal go.

Are you serious Miles? Thomas is not a bust at all. He is up and down but with Thomas and AK it would be very, very difficult for anyone to score in the paint (our biggest weakness). He has a very, very high upside and still preforms decently. Our team athleticism would go waaaaay up with Thomas on the team.

Well if this is true the Blazers sure get a great deal. Why is it that Portland doesn't have to give up anyone? I don't like the trade for the reasons that we aren't getting enough back. Tyrus Thomas is an athletic freak but he is a tweener and doesn't have a defined position. Should have traded AK for T-Mac...

to resolve Millsap's contract first, one way or the other.

Is this a smoke screen by Prichard? or is the rumor about Millsap a smoke screen? POR wants Hinrich. They don't really need Millsap.

Boozer is worth a lot more than Thomas and cap space. We need the PF of the future out of this trade and that is probably not Thomas.

Will the Jazz get a 8+ Mill credit like DEN did on Camby? They can use that credit to trade for anyone they want since it came from the Clips who were under the cap. Since this is a 3 way would the Jazz get a credit they could use to get any player they want from any team?

Some of you are missing the point! Yes... the Jazz only get Thomas and his measly $5 Million contract. They also avoid the luxury tax. They are just hoping to dumping salary knowing that it's not the best deal in the world.

Hey Thomas Portland is giving up cap space for the Jazz. So another way to think about it is Portland is giving the Jazz an over priced Paul Millsap. Slown will put Thomas in the Dog POUnd in the first Month guaranteed.

Portland would need to give up another player to the Jazz to make this work. It would probably end up being Boozer to the Bulls, Heinrich to the Blazers and Thomas and either Blake or Outlaw to Utah. In order to make the money work. I love this trade. Get rid of Boozer, save cap space, and get us one of the things we need, an athletic shotblocker. The Jazz are doing this mainly for cap space so that we can re-sign Milsap. Otherwise Portland may sign him to a contract we can't match.

What Portland has to give up is a player and their cap space. They are essentially giving the Jazz a player (not yet named) and signing Kirk Heinrich. This takes their cap space so they cannot sign Milsap.

i would like to get more for Snoozie...However if this brings chemistry think about Thomas size defense it would help the surrounding players, could help Okur. We have enough offense. I like it if that means giving up salary do it..Yes I would like more....But O Connor still has to not get "wet feet"

it works, what you think, we get more athletic, better shooters, better defender, and save money in long run. then we get rid of kirilenko just for a terrible expiring contract along with korver and harpring and we have much better small forwards and salmons start at 2 and brewer w/ firepower off the bench

Portland gets Hinrich from Chicago and Fesenko from Utah.

Chicago gets Boozer from Utah and Steve Blake from Portland.

Utah gets Tyrus Thomas from Chicago and Joel Pryzbilla from Portland.

Both Portland and Chicago get the players they want. We get rid of a locker room cancer in Boozer and a goofball in Fesenko. We add athleticism in Thomas and toughness and shot blocking in Pryzbilla.

Kevin O'Conner needs to snap this trade up before Boozer is on the IL again with a hangnail.

What I like about the potential trade is you'd have to assume Portland will give something up - we just don't know who it is yet. And I'd also have to assume that the fourth player would go to us - after all, Chicago is already getting the best and most expensive player of the deal.

If so, it might be someone like Martell Webster - another young guy with upside with solid (and improving) defensive skills who can create his own shot. Rudy Fernandez might be a bit more enticing, but that's probably not going to happen. Still, a potential Thomas/Webster combo - plus the flexibility to re-sign Millsap - is a decent haul for a player who we were going to lose next summer anyway.

The Jazz need a defensive presence and they need to get rid of Carlos Boozer and his excessive price tag and his fragile body.
Those of you who think the Jazz will not be able to score with out Boozer- think back to the half of last season C-Booz missed. Jazz still ranked near the top of the NBA in scoring.

Reason for this is Millsap picked up the slack.
Reason for this trade is to bring Thomas, a good defensive, shot blocker to the team and to offer the Blazers Heinrich, who they really want. This will hopefully turn them away from Millsap and without anymore suiters the Jazz are going to get Millsap back for a cheaper price tag then his rediculous uncle/agent is dreaming up.

THis is a great move. Thomas is great at defense and Millsap needs more playing time. Last season, the Jazz were better when Boozer was riding the pine and Millsap was starting!!

JAZZ NEED TO MOVE BOOZER, BECAUSE HE WILL WALK AT SEASON'S END AND THEY NEED TO RESIGN MILLSAP WHO AS A STARTER AVERAGED 16/10. ALSO MILLSAP IS NOT INJURY PRONE AND WILL PLAY DEFENSE. JAZZ NEED TO SHAKE UP THINGS, BECAUSE THEY WONT BEET THE LAKERS OR SPURS BRINGING BACK THE SAME TEAM. ATLEAST WITH TYRUS THEY GET LONGER AND MORE ATHLETIC, SOMETHING THEY HAVE STRUGGLES WITH WHEN PLAYING THE LAKERS.

Carlos Boozer is a scorer with no low post defense. the Jazz will find a way to score. Ronnie brewer is getting better. I think what we need is defense. Tyrus Thomas is extremely active and can block shot.

Boozer needs to pack his bags and go stink up another team. He is by far one of the softest defenders for his position in the league. tyrus thomas would be a great asset to the Jazz due to his ability to block multiple shots per game and his uptempo play would ignite Williams and this season would be the one to watch if the trade went through. this way we could keep Millsap and have some flexibility to maybe work in the free agent market to pick up some key role players to support our beloved D-Will.

Tyrus Thomas is a freak athlete...the area above the shoulders is his biggest weakness. He has a low basketball IQ and according to Chicago writer Sam Smith, has one of the worst dispositions of any young athlete he has covered.

Thomas is long, quick, a good jumper but is relatively weak (Milsap handled him like a ragdoll in their matchups and will struggle is Sloan's system.

Kirk Hinrich is the player the Jazz covet..and if Chicago really wants Boozer, trade Booze for Thomas and Hinrich.

A trade I would like is Boozer, CJ for James johnson, Kirk Hinrich and Thomas..

No matter what, boozer will only be here for another year the most.

Thomas is not consistent, but his numbers are not bad last season: 10.8 pt, 6.4 reb, 1.9 blks per game for 27 min a game when he is not the major player in the Bulls team. And he was making only 3.7M last year. Boozer: 16.2 pt, 10.4 reb, 0.19 nlks (ouch) per game with 32 min and making 12M this year. Boozer played 37 games and Thomas played 79 games last season.

If I am KOC, I will take this deal for sure. Remember, with the salary cap problems and the risk of Boozer just sit for his last season in Utah, it will be a good deal for Jazz. I am GoodGuyGary, and I approve this deal.

saying this deal is mostly smoke. It does not make much sense based on the current details. Boozer is worth a lot more than this. Utah is slow and conservative but they are not dumb like MEM.

POR is not parting with Blake.

The Jazz are not desperate for cap space. You have been brain washed by years of L Miller. Greg can handle the lux to get the right team in place. He wants to win.

Don't give resources away just to get under the tax. The Jazz can afford and have to afford to get the right players.

Stop worrying about the cap. They have months to fix the cap.

Make a trade when you can get the right deal for the right players. You don't have to do a deal for the sake of a deal.

DAL is still dealing and doing a great job of it. They will get an SG next.

They will rival SA when done.

Utah has to be very careful here or they will make trades and be not better off.

let's make a deal chicago and portalnd. soounds almost too good to be true. i forsee this not going through. the bulls wont part with thomas . del negro loves him and sees the potential that he has. the bulls will be getting the shaft in taking boozer. he is a waste of space and is only concerned with scoring and being a baby with his papercut injuries. i see boozer's career headed downhill in 2 to 3 years anyway. he is a offspring of shawn marion, without the defense and skills. so basically his mentality is that of a little leaguer or worse.

By doing this trade the Jazz are helping the Trailblazers the Most. Chicago and Portland are the winners in this trade. For the last time Portland is not giving up anything, but cap space for the Jazz. Another way to think about it is the Jazz are trading Boozer for THOMAS AND MILLSAP TWO UNDER SIZED POWER FORWARDS. Hold out for something better

Thomas is great shot blocker. I love his intensity and determination in every game.I hope that other player will involve in the trade is Rudy Fernandez. He is a great shooter and can be threat to other teams.

todd has the right idea, we trade Boozer to Chicago, Chicago gives Portland Hinrich and us Tyrus Thomas, and Portland gives us Steve Blake. According to the ESPN trade machine that would help us win 2 more wins and the Blazers would lose 5 more. I would be ok with anything that doesn't make us lose more games and doesn't make POR better. And if it helps us win more and POR lose more we are set.

Trade CJ Miles and Boozer to Toronto for Chris Bosh. Then trade Okur to the Hornets for Tyson Chandler. Those would be two great trades for the Jazz, provided the Raptors and Hornets would be willing to deal. Boozer is soft on D, Bosh plays both ends of the floor. Okur is another soft, offensive minded player. The Jazz don't need a center who hangs out at the 3 point line. They need a defensive minded center who will guard the paint area and can also put the ball in the basket if called upon. Chandler would fill the need.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have this sinking feeling that a commitment to Millsap is a commitment to cost effective mediocrity, for the foreseeable future. Not a comment on Millsap, who is a good player, but on the financial decision-making process. Are they committing to a cheap "competitive" team? It sure looks like it.
