No to hunger in America | 12:56 p.m. July 9, 2009
Conservatives oppose Food Stamps, is that what they mean by "family values" and "Christian nation?" Food Stamps help millions of American families keep food on the table during these tough times. Most of the beneficiaries are children. The entire annual budget for Food Stamps is less than a month in Iraq.

Conservatives DO NOT oppose Food Stamps. Though the rest of your statement may be correct, your first statement is grossly bigoted. I live in a conservative state, who has better welfare programs for low income families and children with disabilities than anywhere in this country. So how is it that a republican state (has always been republican) has such extensive welfare programs, when according to you, they are opposed to it??? YOU ARE WRONG.

How to pay? | 4:49 p.m. July 9, 2009
Ok, there may be a large need, but how are we going to pay for it? Just borrow some more money from China? Would we even consider cutting back on foriegn aid? Cut back on some health care programs like Medicaid? Or just increase taxes on the rest of us.

If taxes go up any more, pretty soon it just won't be worth it for second income earners to go to work and pay any taxes at all. Tax revenue will fall significantly.
